Here is what the standard asks for
The back, including the loins, is straight and strongly developed yet not too long between the withers and the croup. The withers must be long and high, sloping slightly from front to rear, defined against the back into which it gently blends without breaking the topline. The loins must be wide, strong and well muscled.
The croup is long and slightly angled (approximately 23 degrees). The ileum and the sacrum are the foundation bones of the croup. Short, steep or flat croups are undesirable.
Now it does not ask for a flat or dippy or level back it asks for straight now straight can be at a 30degree angle but still straight hope this helps those that cant or wont see what straight means if it helps more think of a tri-angle it has 3 straight lines

Just curious?, What is the differences in a good,(V), conformation dog and a competitive show dog? Never really understood how the judges determined the differences so that I could understand....Thanks!

Well bred, PURE bred, dogs cost more. Fact of life.
It is not a fact. "Fad" bred dogs are much more expensive than well bred dogs bred by serious breeders. Why? Because the fad breeder is in dogs for reasons other than producing and placing superior dogs in good homes. Like $$$ and ego and show wins. Some of the very highest titled, best dogs around have been placed between sportsfriends who simply want the right dog in the right home, or a home where it can shine, or because they want to "give back" to the sport.
I was given well bred dogs in my youth, because the breeders knew I was a great home and I would title the dogs. Now that I am older, and doing some breeding, I am doing the same thing. Super working lines bred right, SchH III, health tested stock - and I don't charge $1 for the pups. I don't sell them at all. The only way you can get a pup from me is to be deserving and a good home. And then it is my pleasure to give you a pup.
The dogs are my hobby and my passion - not my livelyhood or source of ego.
