Those are not pirates in Somalia.
They are community activists involved in redistributive justice.

Michele,
You crack me up!! They are just "Robin Hoods" on the High Seas, right?
Somebody will devote a series to them...in 150 years or so.
Funny, Hodie! I think Ronnie's data may be flawed, too. Wasn't there a point during the 1960's when lots of folks foreswore undies at all???

"I respectfully ask where you got your data as to the number of pirates. Hell, Somalia alone has many more pirates than you show on your graph....what is the source of this spurious data? LOL"
Why, I got it from the definitive source, of course: www.venganza.org/about/open-letter/
Anecdotally speaking, there was a group of pirates captured in the Indian Ocean over night and our temperature here today is supposed to set a record. Coincidence?

Keith,
Thank you so much for the reference. It actually plays right into my lectures next week on how to conduct research. One of the challenges today with college students is that they have no idea how to do research, or how to vet sites or get to the bias of any site. The site on the Intelligent Design and the Flying Spaghetti Monster will interject some humor I hope (assuming the students get it and don't take it as "gospel"). So thank you.
I read, by the way, that after the Navy blew the pirates skiff to hell and sunk it that they checked the pirates for weapons etc., and let them go. Apparently, they were well off the coast and I bet the Navy did little to help them back to shore. And yes, I think it might be just a coincidence that you are having a record temp there. We had bad wind and warm for the last two days and now it is cold and windy.....
