What the hell does the vet think a GSD should look like? A rott? I'd be out that door so fast and find myself a new vet!

WOW! She is beautiful! I guess that these oversized GSDs are getting so popular that even vets don't  know what one should look like.

I had a similar experience. When my Jena was 17 months she was getting a rabies shot and weighed in at 57 pounds. The vet told me that she was WAY to small for a GSD and asked when I would like to make the appointment to spay her :-/ She also had the audacity to ask WHERE I got such a dog. I replied "Germany. From a breeder who has been breeding for about, Oh, 50 years."
She pinched her mouth closed as I schooled her on what a GSD should look like, as well as the breed standard on males and females :-) We never went back to that vet again.

"a lot of white"?  What are you talking about, hodie?

Nice puppy, not "too feminine" at all.  You know,   LAVK-9 might have a point - the vet could've totally been joking about a pink collar or leash.

I also think that with everyone bragging on 120 lb. GSD that might be contributing to the "you have a small Shepherd" comments.  Vets don't know breed stds. unless they are also into showing dogs, which most of them aren't, and if 16 breeders are telling them their dogs are 120 lbs....well, I can't see a doctor going to look up a show standard.

That is a beautiful pup!  Nothing wrong with her at all.  You need to find another vet pronto!  How do these people get through school anyway?  Jeez!

"How do these people get through school anyway? Jeez!"

Uh, it's MEDICAL school, not breed standard school.  They're taught MEDICINE.

My question would be what does the Vet look like? Maybe the dog looks more feminine than her. LOL

The pup looks fine to me.

The photo I look at on my computer looks like there is a fair amount of white. The OP has said that there is not. And Tess is correct. The vets learned medicine. They learn almost nothing else, and certainly not about breed standards for any breed. It is the time and experience that they work where one hopes they will learn that type of information. It is a nice pup, just as I said above, neither too feminine or masculine.

I agree with Ziegenfarm and would be really surprised if the  vet actually said the pup was "too feminine".  Sounds like customers trying to find something wrong or maybe they misunderstood what the vet actually said.  Ask them for the name of the vet and ask the vet yourself what he meant.  Possibly as others have said, he meant undersized which would mean he is unaware of correct height and weight for a GSD.
