I tell the idiots they have a million dollar dog. I never want them to look at the dog like he is nothing.

Typically, American showlines are not roachbacked, if anything, many appear swaybacked to me.

You guys will like this one. Even my 13 year old is learning to weed out the whackadoos. She was out walking her dog and was stopped by someone in the neighborhood who wanted to ask her about her dog. They informed her that they had a male they would LOVE to breed her to and would she please ask her mom? She tried to explain that we only breed titled working dogs, but the insisted, so she just told them ok, she'd ask. Out of curiosity, I asked her what the dog looked like, and she informed me, with the look of disdain only a 13 year old girl can truly master, "It looked like an American dog, and he was REALLY fat and looked like he hasn't had his nails clipped, in like, a year."

Oh, my little dog snob in the making...

That's funny Kelly...I can see her doing that.
Well a friend of mine here...a well kinda trainer...said one of her clients had a 8 month old female GSD and they want to breed her. So she thought of me cause I have 2. I asked her why they wanted to breed her. She said cause she is a sweet dog. I had to kindly decline and told my friend she should suggest that they don't breed her for that reason and there are many things that need to be looked into about their own dog before they just start to breed her cause she is sweet. (like OFA and her actually being old enough and pedigree and temperament etc.) I am just hopng that they keep a watch on her if she goes in to heat and they don't have her tied out like most people or a male of some sort that is roaming is going to be "tied" to her!!!

Two Moons

I learned early on to say very little while sitting in a bar..........lol

Whats your name
Have a seat
Can we get another round
Pass the peanuts
Wanna go out and burn one
Someone please feed the juke box
No man I can't take you home
Are you two together
Your place or mine

Speak in short sentences and avoid discussions about anything of substance.
Sit with your back to the wall facing the door.
Sip don't gulp.
Avoid anyone who wants to talk or appears to be crying in their beer.

I always enjoyed watching others acting and interacting in a bar.
It's not the same now a days, times have changed so much.

But some things never change.

I miss the times I can remember...

Well what i normally say to people like that and i am at my most tactful when i say it is this so that i do not upset them.
If you were Born with a Brain you would be Dangerous, But as you do not appear to have a Brain then i guess you are Okay
That normally stops them a bit quick, you can see the cogs working from within trying to get the gist of what i have said
But remember to say it in a nice way

I have a friend who will leave her mixed breed dog tied to the carport when she goes away for several days, and just have a neighbour come over and check its water bowl twice a day. She leave a pail of dogfood for it to munch on whenever it feels hungry. Why it's never gotten fat, I have no idea.  When they are home, the dog's water bowl is the toilet. At least it has the brains to wait for someone to flush before drinking.

The dog is getting up there, so she's been thinking of getting a puppy. I know when she does, it will be a mixed breed, and the main selection criteria is going to be the price, with 'free' being preferred. If she has to pay for it, it will definitely be under $100.  She may ask a few questions about the temperment of the parents and the pup.

How do we stay friends? I sometimes wonder....

She has another friend whom she says is 'even more of a dog lover' than I am. Why does she say that? I guess it's because she lets her two mixed breed mutts share the bed with herself and her husband!   Oh, and she pays $75 a bag for dog food...  (That's not unusual here in Canada. The top quality foods are very expensive.)

"I never want them to look at the dog like he is nothing. "

Brilliant.
