Debarked? Really? Are you sure she doesn't just have that annoying raspy bulldog bark? I'm not doubting you, Vom, I'm just surprised to hear that.

Big difference between game and aggressive, and one is lots harder to tell at a glance than the other.

those are maybe pits on steroids... or something. Well people are stupit, more $$ means better and cooler. I like my little jeep that gets me where I need to go, I can load up  to 3 dogs and trainig equipment. I paid (at most ) 600 bucks for any of my dogs and they were no worst that the others sold for 2500 bucks.

Some people like the dodge ram parked and polished on the street so everybody can look at it. pay extra for parking because the office needs to give you two parking spaces. drive maybe 20 miles and refil the tank agai ( I am just kidding)

we like different things, America is beautiful like that.

anyway. those dogs are ugly and they look like they are pumped on some drugs. I rather get  a cane corso if I want a dog like that. What an ugly wierd looking dog. Pits are so pretty why would you call that a pit bull? Interesting.
there is a breeder (dude, some dude that breeds something like that) in this city, his female got bred by a 7 month old puppy and he sold the litter 3 thousand each. Well he did not want that to happen, it was an accident but why not make some buck on it.... business man!
 people paid the full price!

With all due respect to pit bull fans, I fail to see the attraction of the breed, even if they weren't being used for underground dog fights, and as status symbols by swaggering 'gangstas'!

I'll stick with the GSD, or maybe some other herding breed. The beauceron sounds interesting, and the show fancy hasn't managed to ruin it yet. And when I'm old and infirm, I'll have a cute little lap dog that can alert me to the door and the smoke alarm, and get enough exercise chasing a ball around the house or yard.  I'm not much of a small dog fan, but I've know a few Yorkies that just oozed personality and charm.

I have to say there are some pits that I have liked. That weren't as dramatic as these dogs are. These look like a cross of Neo/Staffy bulls, and who knows what else. Some look like pigs. I would have a pit but I would not be getting one from this breeder and sure as hell wouldn't spend $4000 on one.I could find a nice one at the shelter down the road.

I liked Tony Parrish's dog Capone. He was a sweet pitty

Forgetting my manners here...

[waves to Abhay] Nice to see you! How's it going?

And how's that sly old salt, Cap'n Mike?

Call up Michael Vick - maybe he can explain it all to you.

OUR TRUE STORY

By the way, my wife and I had my female Obedience Trained GSD for a walk at a local walking trail last year.  When out of the blue walks a guy being drug along by his "Harnessed" PBT that was totally out of control.  The PBT was breathing heavy and heading toward our dog that had taken a heel position.

I told the man to control his dog. When he failed my wife took some bear Mace from her fanny pack and blasted the hell out of PBT.  While the dog was rolling on the ground and the man was screaming something about the police we made a quick exit while our GSD was ready and more than able to stop the man but we had her under control at all times
.

My dog can very well defend us but I WILL NOT PLACE HER LIFE IN THE WAY OF A PBT or OTHER BULLY BREED  KILLING MACHINES TO BE MAULED OR KILLED. MY DOGS PROTECT ME FROM HUMAN PREDATORS - I WILL PROTECT THEM FROM THE CANINE ONES - BE IT BY MACE, KNIFE, GUN, WHATEVER IT TAKES.

THE MOST SEVERE BITE  I EVER RECEIVED WAS FROM A PIT THE WORST DOG ON DOG INJURY CAME FROM A PIT ATTACKING ANOTHER DOG.  We lost count of the stitches and amounts of fluid and the dog still died.  The PBT's owner swore "my dog never would do anything like this! Yet witnesses saw it was her dog."

LET THE THUGS HAVE THEM AND CESAR MILAN MAKE A LIVING TAMING THEM.

By the way - why are most PBT chained to the ground with a Logging Chaining that is attached to their massive neck with a 2" leather collar.  They don't even trust a kennel - or they know chaining them brings out the agression??????

BUT THEY'LL NOT BE AROUND MY FAMILY OR KENNEL.
They have been inbred, misbred, to the point of not being reliable.

Hi Abhay. She isn't very aggressive...she just lets out very small growls and was returned to us because of it. She does need to live as an only dog. We don't have any intention of finding out whether she's dog aggressive or game, but I would not be surprised if whoever had her before she came to us knows. She has a long scar on an ear and another on her front. She is nevertheless a cheerful little thing, and LOVES to learn obedience.

There are definitely plenty of pits I like. But I'm a GSD person at heart.

I too wondered if they were on drugs or some type of steroid.  I like certain Pit Bulls, in fact I have a blue, yes "blue pit bull" though I didn't get it for ego or the craze a lot of people do.....though my pup came from a breeder who does health tests, x rays, and even has show titles on a lot of her dogs....awesome pup that fits in well with my dogs and does great around any dog or human he meets.....and I paid under $600 for him. His parents are the more tall, slender type, muscular, but not hiddeous or wide like a lot I've seen.  I just thought people had to be out of their mind when they come accross sites like that and are willing to pick out a puppy who is that much.  I noticed on the puppy page $4,500 for a puppy who is 7 days old.   Everyone on here who breeds or knows anything about puppies knows we can't determine much of anything at 7 days old.......though thinking about it....I know sometimes when people price things that high.....fools come along and think because it's priced that high they are getting something superior, or just something that will out do anything......if it was priced real low, they may turn their heads.

by VomMarischal on 13 February 2010 - 01:02

Well, if it's true that they're not worried about anything but bloodlines when they are determining price, then of course you can tell at 7 days!

GSDguy, the other day my boyfriend came to me saying that a contractor acquaintance of his has a GSD he wants to talk to me about, a $10,000 dog. I said no, not a $10,000 dog, just a dog the guy paid $10,000 for. But I did volunteer to look at the pedigree...of course, haven't heard a word. The guy just wants to brag about how much he paid for his dog.

by Abhay on 13 February 2010 - 01:02

It's easy to see by their color and appearance, that the dogs of "Northern Cali Blues" have been on cycle after cycle of the powerful and highly anabolic and androgenic steroid "Decarankcurabolin"
