OGBS has her littermate now, Elba, since she was retired a few years ago.

Yes, first cousins. Dams are littermates.
It's not so much a stick thing as a need to pick up (or dig up, or steal) the largest, heaviest object he can find. This eliminates any danger that another dog could possibly attempt to, or even think of taking it. He is highly possessive, and that's really the only thing that can get a little annoying. He has no issues with digging up a smallish tree in order to procure a bigger stick. He's always quoting that famous proverb....you know, walk softly and all that jazz. LOL. Lengths of drain tile are another favorite. He is not at all dog aggressive, but he is truly dominant (not a weak bully type that masquerades as dominant) and his ownership over everything causes some issues, so I do have to keep him separate from my other strong males. We joke that something is "his" if he glanced at it anytime within the last year, or might possibly glance at it in the future. He doesn't pick fights; he's more the quiet alpha type, and the others just respect him and mind their own business, but he will absolutely not hesitate to finish one should someone else start it.
I haven't spent a ton of time w/Elba by any means, but from what I have seen of her and what I've learned about Dargo through those who knew him well (and actually WORKED the dog!), Caleb is very much like Dargo in terms of working thresholds, style of bitework, reaction to pressure, etc. Not to mention he looks a tad like him;-). Caleb also did not get Elba's very short stature...he's tall. Too tall, really. Above the standard at 27" and 100lbs, lean. Oh well; he can do agility feats that dogs half his size have a hard time with, so I don't mind his size. He's absolutely not the stereotypical "too big" GSD.

That's interesting the way you describe Caleb. Dar is kinda the same.He won't start a fight but he will finish it and doesn't back down.Even at a young age all he wanted to do is play with another dog....like my ex friends GSD.We were walking the boys and 2 of our girls. The boys were up ahead off leash.Dar just wanted to play but her dog was a jackass(went after a puppy I had that was licking him) and would go after Dar.Finally after her dog went after him one last time Dar said screw you and grabbed her dog by the face and pinned him in the snow and put all his weight down and wouldn't let go!! The female I had was a bit fiesty and dog aggressive(I called her Tazmainian Devil) and getting hyped up on the ordeal. So I tied my girl to the tree and kept telling Dar to out. Finally he did and needless to say we didn't let them hang out again.lol We took it for granted that the other GSD I had got along fine with hers. Dar is still that James Dean type that he won't start a fight but when push comes to shove he will take care of things. He is food possesive/toy and likes to play with big rocks. Not cool when I am wearing sandles and he drops it at my feet for me to throw!!
Caleb does look alot like his daddy!! Even with him being bigger then the standard...he is in proper porportion. He looks good. For sure a solid dog.

Dar digging in the water for his rock...was the size of a football!! No wonder why his K-9s are filed down.
