This place needs work, but it could be really cute fixed up right. Can't beat the serene pastoral view out the back windows. Its pretty quiet back here most of the time, too. The dogs like their nice, covered, 8 x 16' runs. Bijou thinks the flat topped dog house is a stage. All are eating well and gaining back the little bit of weight they have needed for awhile now. Portia's temp is finally dropping (still eating though) She should drop that puppy tonight or tomorrow am. I am sleeping on the sofa on puppy watch, of course.
I did get ClearVue wireless internet installed today. Only $35. Its a little slow, but WAY better than nothing. There is no cable or DSL out here in the country yet, so its satellite TV or nothing. That will have to wait till I have a $300. deposit. :-(
...all part of the fun of starting over. ;-)
Sooner or later one of the applications for employment and resumes is going to turn into an interview, I just know it.
Great to be back in CA.
The Stanislaus SchH Club trial here starts at 4:30, tracking tomorrow am. People are drifting in and out, practicing, rain or shine, all week. Great to be right in the middle of it all again! Of particular delight is the quality of the helper work, and the coaching provided by Peggy & Gary & Patty Garcia. Small wonder they turn out some many competitive teams from here with that kind of talent and experience! Can't wait to start my dogs back in serious training. Lots of events coming up this year.
Time to scout for something to eat.

You guys should see the cool stuff Michele broght down for this apartment today. Its literally a whole kitchen that fit in the back of her car, and still had room for Pharoah. (who, BTW, is a very cool guy) She even brought a folding table to set it up on till we get the cabinets installed. This place needs a lot of elbow grease, but with some imagination and a little work...
No puppy yet. Mom is not in labor. Temp 99.9. She is trying to convince me I should give her the rest of my carne asada taco.
...Like the baby needs to be born with heartburn?

Shelley seems to be recovering nicely from the rigors of the trip and the pneumonia. Those antibiotics are really kicking butt. She feels strong now and is not wheezing and coughing.
I was pleased to meet her beautifuly dogs. The look terrific and are settling in nicely to their new home. Portia is just stunning. She is the queen of the roost. Xena is a little terror, just as cute and feisty as she can be.
Pharaoh was up to his sneaky little tricks. While we were unloading my car, he slithered into the front seat and silently got the door open and walked into Shelley's front door just as she was coming out and ruined all his plans. He is sooooooo sneaky and stealthy. He can open all the doors in my house unless they are locked. Now the car too!
It would have been nice if I could have stayed to see the trial, but I have so much work to do. Between earning a living and getting the house ready to sell.
