Poor, poor dog, - whatever the circumstances, this is such a sad story.   I hope they get to the bottom of what happened, if this was done on purpose or is the result of negligence,  the responsible parties need to be held accountable.  It is also possible this was a tragic accident, which is why the facts and level heads must prevail, instead of lynch mobs.

About 10 years ago, there was a blind guy who decided to walk across the country to raise funds for diabetes (the cause of his blindness.) One day, at a rest stop, he hitched his guide dog to the bumper of the car carrying his support staff.
They forgot the dog was there, and drove off with it still  hitched to the bumper. The dog was severely injured, but survived.

Accidents DO happen!

But, still, my money would be on this being the work of some sick, twisted individual, who had a grudge against the dog for peeing in his shoes or something...

How very sad for the dog.  Accident or not this is a horrible thing to imagine.  It just breaks my heart.  The fact that they say the tracks show the dog walking, then running, then being dragged makes me think it was deliberate.  I hope they find the responsible party and drag his/her ass behind a car.  I'll even volunteer to drive it.

Well perhaps we should give the perp. an award and declare a local holiday for him or her! We could do the same for them that the football community now wants to do for Micheal Vick!

Raymond,
You seem obsessed with asses, smart or not, and ass holes.
This is not good for your image.

Perhaps the new year will bring a new interest for you, something a bit less intrusive.
