I, too, would like to redirect this thread to that intended by the OP: the need for a competent attorney specializing in animal and property law in the Crescent City area of Northern California.

There have been and will be no requests for advice or critiquing the situation.

In the meantime, please contact the OP if you have any information as to the fate or whereabouts of this 4-year-old, intact, male, black and red, GSD--absent since 12/26/09. Photos of dog are available upon request. In the meantime, an ad has been placed in the newspaper and a reward offered.

Louise, why does it need to be dog law? I can't see from what was written what it has to do with dog law specifically. Looks like trespass and destruction of property, if indeed the suspected activity happened. I seriously doubt that you'll find a person in CC experienced in dog law; I had a heck of a time finding one in Sacramento.

Actually, there are attorneys invovled in animal law in California-lots of them.    There are entire bar sections in several states devoted to that area of law.

.. * "in the meantime" *

-- are you kidding Louise, that post is blaming someone for killing a dog, driving off with it and puttin' it in the ground.

.. how can you say "in the meantime" there's a reward in the paper for the whereabouts of this dog ?

Do you people even read what you spew ?

Yes, Mystere, but Crescent City is the only actual incorporated city in the whole county of Del Norte, and it's a dinky city, like population 3000 or so. An outside lawyer would have to be willing to make a long jaunt. Also, it seems more like a criminal issue to me...from what I read, anyhow. How would this proceed in civil court?

by VomMarischal on 30 December 2009 - 19:12

Oh silly me, it's up to 7000 now. So they must have at least what, 6 lawyers in the county?

by VomMarischal on 30 December 2009 - 19:12

I have a friend in Crescent City by the name of Paul Sellers. He recommends a guy named George Mavris, 707-464-1418, who if he can't deal with it will tell you who can.

Thank you, Jackie. Finally, a direct answer.

Why do things always happen on or near holiday weekends?
