Ronny/Barbara,
Please read carefully what two moons and Mindhunt have written.  It is only sad that more cannot see through the deception, dishonesty and ignorance that Peta uses to progress their agenda.  This is a sick organization that uses anything they can to promote their cause.  I could go on all night about the lies and unethical means they use, but please think twice when you see Peta or the many groups that have similar philosophies such as USHS, animal rights groups etc. involved in this.

I will say this before the entire dog world, we face no greater danger in keeping our rights as dog breeders, trainers, fanciers, show people, sport, working, K-9, you name it, than from these organizations.  They pump millions into adds, have politicians in their pockets and have a full head of steam!!!!!

I hate PETA!! I do believe animals have rights, but PETA takes it waaay too far. They use outlandish propaganda to change people's minds and shock to get people to do what they want. PETA activists are disrespectfu, rude, and ignorant. Personally, the way they act makes me NOT want to listen to their message at all. I am studying psychology and research has shown that shock treatment and over the top, gruesome propaganda actually hurts more than it helps. Less out there, more mild tactics actually work better. But PETA is narrow-minded and doesn't listen to anyone else's opinions, so they won't get far....well, there's my little rant.

:D

Man are some of you people for real?Look at what these fkn people are doing to a poor defenceless animal whether its a dog or not.Peta or no Peta the facts remain to be what they are,THIS PARTICULAR COUNTRY IS TORTURING ANIMALS OF ALL KINDS.What is wrong with this race to have to TORTURE an animal  while it is still alive. Why would'nt they kill it first and then do what ever the hell they do.Why the torture? You know,if there is anything after this life, man I hope they get to experiance the SAME PAIN.Barbara I have to agree with you.Its not right to do that to any animal.I hope everything is good with you and Ron.Good luck to you and yours.

Domenic, I understand your outrage over the skinning of animals alive...But you need to understand that the countries of Asia don't necessarily view things the way we do.  A friend of mine once ate at a Vietnamese restaurant where they served monkey brains as a delicacy...Raw brains, taken from the restrained, living animal, at your table. Of course it died as the brain was removed, but it sure wasn't killed first.   Yes, it's horrible, but Asia's varied cultures are as different from our ways as night and day.

Aside from that, the video is only a propaganda tool used by PETA and others to scam your money.  What happens to the money that is scammed from people every year?  It's used to create more and more anti-pet laws, framed and hidden under the guise of Anti-Cruelty, because that's the way that the public will swallow them.

PETA doesn't give a rat about the poor, starved bitches languishing in tiny cages, sleeping in their waste and matted as they produce litter after litter of puppies.  PETA doesn't give a rat about the poor animals being skinned alive in China, or anywhere else.   They don't care about the dogs being killed in dog fighting rings, or the ones being starved in back yards, tied on heavy chains in all weather.

PETA's only goal is the complete abolition of all domesticated animal species, from mice and rats to dog and cats, to horses, chickens, cattle, and fish.  The keeping of domestic animals is "slavery" and must be abolished in all its forms.  Only wild animals deserve to be left, those who can survive on their own.  Read some of the writings of the nut job Ingrid Newkirk and some of the ramblings of Dr. Michael Fox, Wayne whatshisface of HSUS...It will scare the living hell out of you.

Don't be fooled for one second by their bleeding heart videos...That is solely a marketing tool meant to garner sympathy, and through it, your hard-earned money.  The point of that video and almost everything else those freaks pump out is to alter the views of children, not adults, because it is through the young that a culture can be changed.  Please don't be taken in by the BS of PETA and HSUS...

There is another point that I thought about, in retrospect, that I should add..

PETA is not really so much even concerned about animals.  One of the long term goals is the extermination of all domesticated animals in the world, but it goes far further than that, much farther.

Ingrid Newkirk, the crazy broad who co-founded PETA, was credited with making a statement saying that humans are like a cancer on the face of the earth.  To me that says that not only would she like to see the elimination of mankind's meddling with animals, but also the elimination of humans, as well, as they are a cancer destroying the earth.  Another AR moron is Dr. Michael Fox, who made the statement that "The life of an ant and the life of my child should be given the same consideration."

Do some research on the AR movement, and you'll see that it has absolutely nothing to do with the rights of animals.  They've had to start here, because you have to get people adjusted by degrees, to the changes you want to implement.  These nutjobs worship the planet, feel that humankind (regardless of race or creed) is an unsustainable force on this world and needs to be reduced drastically or removed altogether.  Crazy, I know.  Sadly, it's true.  It's frightening to even consider that people could feel this way about their own kind.  I wish I had some of the webpages and other resources to link to right now..But after my own foray into the dark world of the philosophies involved, I was horrified.   But research it yourself and see.

Dodie,
There is much about the Chinese culture you do not understand.
And these stories are just to bolster donations and most are not reality.
Look a little deeper.

this could make some ppl very angry, but here it goes.

i know for a fact that that video, horrifying as it is because i watched it, is absolute, complete CRAP. How do i know this you ask? cause i was raised on a fur farm in Northern Alberta Canada and watched MANY animals skinned, either born on our farm or trapped, and none, i repeat NONE, were ever skinned alive! the notion is ridiculous! for the simple fact of economics! think about it! these animals are being skinned for their FUR! maybe none of you are aware of the skill it takes to skin a DEAD animal, but nicks and mistakes happen, and each one costs money and devalues the pelt. Trying to skin a live animal??? that pelt must look like a screen on a window!! and then look at when they are smashing the animals on the ground... again a practice that causes damage to a valuable pelt.

As horrifying as the images are, with my expeirence, i know this was staged bull shit. those animals were tortured to MAKE this video! not for their pelts.

I have to agree with Dayna,
I too have experience with both wild and ranch fur.
This stuff is propaganda.

No matter what the reason for the video there are plenty of countries in the east mostly who are savages out rite they kill endangered species for the stupidest reasons you can think of they are raping the oceans and destroying what belongs to everyone and they need to be stopped and it wont be peta or anyone who thinks like those idiots that will save them it will be us who need to stand up and let them know we will not put up with it anymore

Blairbuilt,

I was going to leave this thread lie, but I felt that I should respond to your statement.

I don't care for most of China's approaches to things, nor those of most of the Eastern countries.  But who are we, citizens of a two hundred year old country, to go and tell an ancient civilization how they should live?  In some of those countries, the animals we eat are considered sacred...How do you think it makes them feel?

And though I have no direct knowledge of the fur trade, I'd have to agree with Dayna's statements.  A pelt's value is in it's perfection, and trying to skin a live animal would result in destruction of the hide, which would render it worthless.

As for the "raping of the ocean and the destruction of what belongs to everyone" that's exactly what PETA and the rest of the nuts in the "earth worship" club want us to think.  Personally, when I want to know what the truth of something is, I take both extremes and look somewhere in the middle...That's usually where the truth is to be found.

PETA circulates their crap, aimed at children for maximum impact, every year, and they are the biggest hypocrites on the face of the planet they worship.  They kill thousands of adoptable dogs and cats every year, because that furthers their goal.  And yes, they would definitely stage a torture film, after all, if it's a fur farm, the animals are slaves and are to be liberated in any way possible, preferably death.
