BULLSHIT, Shelley! My question had NOTHING to do with last year and didn't even reference it. Here is my post: "So, who is in the running for the title? I hope the trophy does not go begging!" YOU brought up last year-period. Read the posts. I specifically did not bring up 2008, until AFTER you opened that can, because I knew there are several individuals, including you, who would be understandably defensive about it. You have ably demonstrated that with your first post--the second in the thread. So, no, you cannot deny that YOU opened that old can-it's right there in black and white. MY reponses have been to just move forward. Apparently, some would prefer not to. So be it.

Projecting again.......<shakes head>

"Oh, you mean liars were discouraged from lying this year? Refreshing!! Last year a slew of asses "declared" at the Sieger Show, knowing full well that they had NO intention of entering their declared dogs in any trials"

Actually, declarations for Universal sieger must be done BEFORE the Sieger Show, hence their appearance in the catalog.
Of course if people become too discouraged, no one will declare, and the program will die.
I for one would hate to see that happen.

so what would you call a bug girl in the schutzhund world....?
Well, yeah that would probably be me at this point in time.... but anyways....

For the rest of the SchH1-BG's out there what is the process for applying/declaring your attempt at the Universal Sieger?

IMHO (if I understand it correctly) Universal Sieger is the epitome of what the GSD can and should be.

Come on, water under the bridge lets look at the future not dwell on the past.....

Minor correction. There is NO rule stating you MUST declare your indentions, the rule for Universal Sieger is;
1. Show in the Sieger Show
2. Enter a USA regional
3. Have a qualifying score of 270 from any club trial or a regional to enter the USA Nationals
4. Dog must be owned or co-owned by a US resident

anther bug girl question...

I'm assuming there is also Universal Siegerin too.....? or no....?

I would also hate to see the Universal Seiger program stopped, or die out because people won't "go for it".  I can say that it is extremely disheartening to work so hard for something, putting all that you have into something, only to have the cheaters win in the end, because they have the right "friends".  It would be enough of a reason to not want to try again.

That said, I was happy to see the two honest competitors for the US last year - kudos to them both for trying and succeeding to do it the right way, with hard work and time, good handling and love for their dogs.

Based on this post, it would appear that the only dog who has fulfilled the qualifications this year to compete for this title would be Juneau vom haus tyson.... don't know if he is "declared" this year or not....

It is indeed interesting that despite all the chatter only one or two dogs consistently go the distance as far as meeting the requirements for this title. Yet you would hardly realize this if you were to read the stuff that people write about various dogs. Really amazing this split between the reality and the hype.

Like I have said before- a lot of it is logistics. Not everyone can afford to enter two events, some years at opposite ends of this great nation, especially since the economy has tanked.
