LOL, I kinda like Shepwa...When people ask what kind of dog you have you can stick your nose in the air air and say "It's a Shepwaaahhhh" sniff condescendingly and walk away, hehe....
On a serious note, that was way cool of you to rescue the little buggers (and I'm sure they will be) I'm sure if they were brought to the local shelter they would be immediately adopted, then most definitely back at the shelter because either they are "tearing up the house" or keep shredding clothing (with humans inside)
Good luck with them. Can't wait to see pictures of them.

No I don't think it is the swine flu, more like puppyitis :) Sounds like you are going to have a house full of Malsheps

get some sleep tonight, you are going to bewithout for awhile. Just tell everyone they are "designer dogs" and you hold the only rights to this breed, they will sell quickly. Good luck.

They are here, 1 male and 3 females. There were actually 4 females but supposedly this terrific dog owner is allowing his step- son to keep one. I am not going to even go into this whole story. It is way to complicated, but is the perfect example of what is wrong in the dog world.
When I got there, Mom was tied out to one of those run lines that was tied between the fence and a tree. I don't automatically judge things like that, but then I looked at the tree. The trunk was all ripped apart from Momma chewing on it. I can only imagine out of frustration.
So we load 'em up and get out to the field. When we opened the crate, One female came running staight out and went exploring. The other two kind of meanderd out confidently, with one hanging back with just a little hesitation. What was interesting to me was they did not have to stick together as a pack. They seperated, explored, and came back together. They were all friendly and came up to everyone, but pretty aloof at the same time. About 70% exploring to 30% wanting to interact with people. Don't really have an opinion on that yet, but it was interesting.
All were willing to chase me and a burlap sack, but they were not really interested in biting much yet. That was a little dissapointing, as I am used to biting machines, right our of the womb, but the half brother to these pups is just starting to come into his own at 1 year old, so may be in the lines.
They are going to be pretty dogs (I think). The male especially. He has a very dark black mask, deep red sable coat. Dark belly, he is a looker. They look more "Malinios" type to me right now. Mom is Black and has the somewhat typical slighter bone and size (about 60lbs) that seems to be common in the black dogs. I am guessing these willbe about 60-65 lb dogs, which is perfect size I think. The pup that showed a little shyness looks a little more "GSD" type to me. She has a little more coat, a sable with kind of grey tips. VS a much darker red sable of the other ones.
Anyway all in all they are happy and healthy. Seem pretty stable and self assured. We will have to see how they grow up. One club member laid claim to the male, and took him home. Another one is taking a female after we evaluate them more, so I have two pups to place and Mom.
Keep you posted. I will take some video when they start biting stuff :)
P.S.
The common name for this cross is a "shepawa". It was tried quite a bit back in the late 90's but I don't know that anyone really figured out how to do it with consistant results so not really too common now days.
