UScA Members,
These ammendments to the USA by-laws are up for vote at THIS YEAR'S GENERAL MEETING. I have taken the liberty of posting the parts that warrants our immediate attention! Please send a delegate to the general board meeting next month to vote NO! This is the United States of America - we will not be told what organzation we can and cannot be a member of and in what capacity.
Conflict of interest? Are you kidding?
I am a member of the South Metro Atlanta Schutzhund Club (UScA)/Metro Atlanta Schutzhund Club (GSDCA-WDA). I venture to say that we are one of the largest clubs AND the most active. We host events for UScA and GSDCA-WDA. (The SMASC (UScA) just won UScA's Regional GEC award) We support the sport of Schutzhund and the organizations that allow us to showcase that sport.
This is only the will of a few, let's not let it be the "law" for all.

Proud member of UScA AND GSDCA-WDA
Proposed By-Laws Changes:
(These amendments prohibit USA members residing in the United States from being members of, or being affiliated with, competing German Shepherd Dog organizations in the United States. Membership in more than one U.S.-based German Shepherd Dog club presents a conflict of interest when making decisions that affect USA.)
1. Article IV, Section 2. (Individual Membership/Rules for Individual Membership) – Submitted by Johannes Grewe
Add:
e. USA members who are residents of the United States may not be members of, or be affiliated with, any competing German Shepherd Dog organization in the United States.
2. Article III.4. (Performance and Breeding Regulations) – Submitted by Johannes Grewe
From:
4. USA Judges may not be governing members or judges of competing U.S. German Shepherd Dog organizations.
To:
4. USA Judges may not be members, governing members, or judges of any competing German Shepherd Dog organization in the United States.
3. Article V, Section 2. (Club Membership/Relationship Between USA and Local Clubs – Submitted by Johannes Grewe
From:
c. Member clubs shall not be members of other Schutzhund type organizations. Individual members of the club, however, may be members of other organizations.

Maybe we should have a bylaw change that you need to be a resident of USA to sit on our board.
I agree with Bob, in our country, through our constitution, we have civil liberties that supercede anything one German visitor wants to propose. Maybe the German and the USA government would be interested in a foreigneer causing an uproar. This action would do little for our 501 c (3), non profit status.
USA Board.....think about this.

I think Bob said it best.
I just thought the title was misleading and rude.
Have faith in one another and vote.

What a terrible idea! Any one have any background as to why this is being proposed? As a USA member, I hate this idea and do not support it.
Also will say that I agree with ronny - I think the thread title is not good. For those left who went through, or who have family who went through WWII, likening a dog-related issue to the Nazis is considered extremely disrespectful.
Back to the thread subject, I certainly hope this does not pass, and I agree that USA will lose a LOT of members if it does.

UScA Members,
I don't why the executive board has not sent out an official agenda . . . The deadline to submit your delgate letter is this weekend. I am concerned that clubs will not understand the critical issues that are going to be voted on until it is too late. Please, please send a delegate who can represent your club. Sara Walick, UScA secretary e-mailed me yesterday and said that you can scan your delegate letters and e-mail them to her. This will save valuable time.
Please get invovled. This is our organization!
Thank you,
Rhonda Southern

I forgot to add that each USA Club have to send in it's delegates letter to the USA secretary 30 days before the meeting which means the deadline is the 5th of this month. Please send a person to vote! To remain quiet, is a vote in favor of the proposal.

You just answered your own question. When you have something shady & restrictive you want to pass, you DON'T want a lot of people to show up. You want to ram it through and let people find out about it after it's too late.
