I've been buying only Sprenger for 30+ years.
I have "chrome" fur savers that are on their 3'rd dog and no rust.
If money is no object, get the stainless. But don't worry about the chrome rusting unless you leave it on the dog 24/7.
And if you do this, we need another thread, because I going to educate you on how stupid this is.

Honestly. I have literally dozens of Sprenger collars. Fur savers, show martingales, pinch collars, you name it I've got it.
I buy the chrome for the price, as I'm bad about losing them.
I have chrome collars 20 years old and on the 3'rd. dog and no rust.
I work the dog, pull tyhe collar and leave it hanging on the run (covered).
So, like Bob M suggested just buy a Sprenger and don't sweat the small stuff.
P.S. I would never buy brass.
JMHO,
Rik

thick stainless or brass.
thicker collars seem to drape better and last longer.
they cost more, but its well worth it.

Sue I use the same kind you do and I really like the way the brass looks--especially on a darm dog. But then that is just me.
