Here is another question. Has any dog ever been proclaimed "Sieger", who's OWNER was not a German citizen. Now, THAT is the question, to be answered, or should I say pondered. Ever wonder why Hill Vom Farbienspiel could never get the nod? Will never happen.

VFG, please read my post carefully.
I did write that in 1994, Kimon van Dan Alhedy's Hoeve was VA-1 , and he was born in the Netherlands. So, you don't have to wait a couple of centuries. It has already happened.
Stephen, your question is difficult. For a Sieger not to have a German owner, he has to at least have a German 'keeper' for the obvious reason of being available for stud service for at least two years, maybe longer.
Hill vom Farbenspiel? Well, everybody is entitled to opinions and mine is that he has not produced what people had expected. Unfortunately!

Silbersee, O course you are right. We did not need to wait for couple of centuries to see a foreign born male crowned VA1 -as shown by Kimon. Miracles also happen in our hobby :)

chris,
the breeder of fruteto breeds under 2 kennel name. one is DeL Fruteto and Vom Fruteto. Del fruteto is his Italian Kennel name. Maybe that is why his dog actually won the seiger show.Having a german kennel to breed helps alot.
