When I rule the world, there will nothing but salt, pepper and ketchup allowed on french fries!
I will amend my law to allow cream gravy if you have them with chicken fried steak!

Tweet about apartment mold draws lawsuit
July 28, 2009
BY LISA DONOVAN Staff Reporter
It was a not-so-sweet Tweet about a Chicago apartment.
So Horizon Group Management LLC filed a libel lawsuit Monday against former tenant Amanda Bonnen, claiming one of her alleged Twitter posts "maliciously and wrongfully" slammed her apartment at 4242 N. Sheridan and the company managing it.
The May 12 Tweet under the handle "abonnen" reads in part: "Who said sleeping in a moldy apartment was bad for you? Horizon realty thinks it's okay."
The suit and Twitter account identifies "abonnen" as Amanda Bonnen.
Jeffrey Michael, whose family has run Horizon for more than 25 years, said: "The statements are obviously false, and it's our intention to prove that."
He said that while she moved out recently, the company never had a conversation about the post and never asked her to take it down.
"We're a sue first, ask questions later kind of an organization," he said, noting that the company manages 1,500 apartments in Chicago and has a good reputation it wants to preserve.
Horizon, which filed the suit in Cook County Circuit Court, is seeking $50,000 in damages.
Bonnen couldn't be reached for comment.

Sita's mom and Pharoah, you are so completley incorrect regarding Canadian law, you ought not post about it. Seriously. It is no wonder that Americans are seen as ignorant of the rest of the world.
First, Canada has a Charter of Rights - the highest law in the land that guarantees our individual freedoms, including freedom of expression.
2. Everyone has the following fundamental freedoms:
(a) freedom of conscience and religion;
(b) freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression, including freedom of the press and other media of communication;
(c) freedom of peaceful assembly; and
(d) freedom of association.
Second, it is a ridiculous premise that the government will pay for a child's apartment if they're asked to do chores. I'm sure Sita's mom, you might come up with some third party hearsay of anecdotal evidence, but I guarantee you that you will not know the whole story.
Third, the tort of defamation is a common law tort - truth is a defence even in Canada.
Fourth, the myth of Sharia law, LOL! We have a federal criminal code, Constition and Charter of Rights - ALL laws are subject to them. Several years ago, there was an issue of perhaps setting up a voluntary tribunal in Ontario for settling marital disputes under Sharia law - THAT was because there was already two faith based tribunals set up for the same thing - voluntary tribunals for family disputes for Catholics and for Jewish people. As a result, Ontario decided to end ALL faith based tribunals, to separate the church and state almost entirely. To appease the long term established faith based tribunal system, they simply incorporated some of it into the existing court system as a mediative process within the litigation process overseen by the courts.
Our federal Human Rights code - now that is ridiculously protective regarding limits of speech - and I would agree it goes way overboard - but it does not apply to the general population, only to a limited group.
