I'll say sometime this evening things should start happening and I'm guessing 6 pups, 4 girls - 2 boys. That's my guess. Keep us posted Rowdy!
Who else has a guess on date, time and # of pups?

Anyway, she has calmed down quite a bit. Still nesting, but slept most of the day. Temp at 2pm is at 99.7. Not sure what to think anymore!
Ok, I don't even want to guess when she'll go, but I guess 5 girls 3 boys (no I don't know how many, didn't have an xray done)
I'll keep everyone posted! I'm gonna try and go take a nap

I have had more than one momma eat immediately before her water broke!! Not always the most reliable indicator
I keep very good vanilla ice cream on hand .. for all of us.. gives a nice glucose boost andhelps my stomach that is feeling terible after being up for 24+ hours!!

she eats all the way to the whelp.
her temp. will go down to the 98.
through pregancy it goes from 101.5 - 99, but when it goes in the 98 it will be between 6 - 12 hours to whelp.
ok i will say 7 pups 3boys/4girls.
i dont think it is yet .
maybe another day yet.
good luck.

They're trying to find the milkbar right now, but mom isn't done "rough'n em up" yet, but she is doing well also. Being a good mom.
I'll keep you posted!

So the tally is:
We had a total of 9 pups, but one was DOA :( But the rest are happy and healthy. 4 boys - 4 girls! I was too tired to try and figure out colors, but I know we have 2 that look like they might be solid black, a couple that look sable (maybe black sable), and a couple that are looking to be black/tan. Largest of the bunch was the first male at 1# 2.2oz. Littlest girl was one that was born this morning, weighing 14.4oz.
I tried to catch some shuteye last night, but I don't know how you other breeders do it. I was up every 15 minutes, scared to death she was going to lay on them! (yes, I have pigrails, but doesn't stop her from just laying on top of them!) She is being a very good first time momma. Cleaned each one thoroughly, ate the placentas, and let them nurse....while she got some vanilla ice cream :)
I haven't gotten too many pictures yet, just too darned tired. But when I do, I will probably need a coach on here to tell me how to post them.
Congrats, Justk9's "Rookie"....he's a proud new papa!
