As soon as the main stream media starts marrying their dogs you will all be brain washed into thinking its ok.

Not my church. They said just 'pray to Jesus, and he will comfort you."
Not my 'friends'. Many of our mutual friends just disappeared. Others were too busy raising their families.
My brother and sister in law did what they could, but with 3 children to raise, and preparing for a major move, their time was very limited.
I think this For Better or For Worse cartoon by Lynn Johnson expresses it really well:

Lock your wife and dog in the trunk of a car and see which one is glad to see you when you open the trunk.....

To find out which loves you more...
Lock your spouse and your dog in the truck of a car, open after a week...see which one is glad to see you.
My condolences for the loss you suffered, Sunsilver.
But marrying a dog? Why marriage? I can love my dog as a member of my family without needing to go all matrimonial about it. Why can't the dog just be her pet? To marry the dog is just plain sick and twisted. Marriage confers certain things, including a sex relationship, and that's just wrong.
I wonder what ever happened to people (and animals) just being friends? Why must we now gender and species confusion as normal? Just a few decades ago, a person and their dog were just best pals, and that's the way it was...Now we have to hear about marriage, and romance...What's next?

When camping, a dog is happy to leave the warm safe tent to accompany you on a middle-of-the-night potty break.

I am sorry, I truely love my dogs but I am NOT in love with my dogs like I am with my husband. There is a difference. I understand the loneliness that one feels when there is no one else there but a pet ( had a cat that was there in my time of need). The thought of marrying him never crossed my mind nor would I wantrd to.
