They dont give a damn about flies, dont you people understand its all for media exposure, everything they do is for attention and we are stupid enough to give it to them. they put down hundreds of dogs who belonged to military personell in Norfolk, go look that up and you find the truth about them

From what I understand, Ingrid Newkirk is absolutely nuts. She firmly believes that humans are a cancer on the face of the earth which needs to be eradicated. In the short term, her goal is to eliminate all domesticated animals.
These people are after attention, but it is attention to what they want you to see, not what they are really doing. Their view, as they say it, is to see that all animals, insects included, are given the same rights as humans. Ultimately, it is about reduction of population, and control of what population is left by a few. It's scary.
Moons, I love your description of your deep love for your fellow creatures, particularly those with more than four legs...We should have a bug barbeque!
We should also see if we can catch all the fire ants, killer bees, and fleas to add to the mosquito donation. I think they should all get into a big cage naked, like they like to do anyway, and show their love for the insects by providing them with food.
AR is not about animals. It's about people.

PS: They should actually amend their literature to include pictures of the thousands of pets they have killed rather than adopt. It's false advertising to pretend you care about animals in order to fleece people out of their money.

You could probably dig up a bunch of articles like this http://www.nokillnow.com/PETApilotonlinepetaworkersface25felonies.htm
What they did to those military personell was really shitty though, they said the would adopt out their dogs while they were serving, and instead they put them all down, all of em, for no reason, then they tried to lie and say they went to good homes, wheres the article about that shit

CrysBuck25,
Good informative post. The real scary thing is that they have there hands deep in the pocket of politicians and Hollywood type mentality folks that only look at the surface. They also have their hands deep into all of the other organizations that are called "Animal Activists". Sadly, there are members of this forum that buy into their well planned out and paid for propaganda. Yes, they want attention, but they usually do an excellent job of marketing and deceitfully portraying their cause. This is what suprised me about the Obama thing.
A point of interest to all who read this thread. Notice how few read these threads! Notice how many will read just about any other thread whether it is relevent to our dogs or not. People, even dog people will not take the time to read something as critical to our future as this. This is why I like to keep adding something to it, bringing it back up to the top again in hopes that more will read it and open their eyes. Somewhat sneaky, but I am willing to fight for our dogs.

P.S. Classic example. When I sent my last post in, I saw that the thread that said, " private message for jennifer what ever" had been read by 2058 people. Now that thread really got peoples attention. But this thread has received 248 readers. Is something wrong with this picture?

I see where you're coming from, Olskoolgsds. The title is what gets the attention, though, and also whether there's a raging battle going on about it. There's no battle here. I agree with you that the agenda of PETA is messed up, and that we need to fight for our dogs.
But there's far more to it than that. It's not about dogs, or cats, or horses. PETA's agenda has far more to do with people, and the simple fact is, it makes people uncomfortable to think that a 'harmless' animals rights organization could be so dark. So it's easier to just say that people like you and me don't care about the welfare of the animals, and that we're nuts and see conspiracy everywhere. It's about wearing the rose colored glasses, because 'people just can't be that evil'.
Yes, they can be, and some are. And those people are damned good propagandists. They learn these things, and fleece people with those sad pictures and the sad stories. Of much more value to the paying public would be videos of PETA's freezers full of pet carcasses that have been euthanized to prevent their slavery to the humans, the men and women of PETA and their vehement anti-human views.
Good Lord, they don't even care about the animals. It's like my dad once said, kind of crude, but true: "If you tell people, long enough, that a pile of crap is edible, eventually they'll eat it.." And they will. PETA only has the kind of support it does because it fleeces people with fancy words. Me, I tend to look on the dark side, because there always is one. PETA, Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, HSUS, and a lot of others are really something if you dig into their past. Troubling, in fact.
Too bad we live now. Two hundred years ago, these people would have been in mental hospitals, or PTS. Now they legally fleece good people and then screw them.
Thousands of people read these boards, Olskool. Let's keep reminding them. And try using really catch topic titles. The more catchy it is, the more attention it will get. We do need to fight for our rights, for our dogs, and show those losers that they need to get a life.

olskoolgsds & Crys,
You both are right on the money!
And, just for the record, when I was a kid I used to catch flies and bees and knock them out and then pull one strand of my long hair out and tie it around their necks and then when they came to, I'd have a fly/bee on a leash! LOL! Really!

LOL Jen, me too! My pet flies! I found they were easier to tame if you pulled their wings off

The problem with Peta and this thread's low readership is the same, the extremism factor. That was an interesting read about the beginnings of Peta from Mindhunt.
