at what age do you remove pups from mom ? - Page 2

At 3 weeks  my pups are eating the goats milk /puppy food  mush and continue to suckle until 5th week as Mom usually is fed up and will not allow them to nurse. My pups are very veracious eaters and with the trimming of nails,,which helps keep moms stomach from getting scratched, only time I let them suckle is for a morning snack and a night time snack.
Cottage cheese is mixed into mush at 3 weeks old and then at 4 weeks I introduce the juice off the raw liver that mom is getting.
 

At  6 weeks the pups are in their own wire floored cages, for sanitary keeping and fed three times a day ...I also introduce raw liver at this time and raw chicken . Pups play with mom only short periods as I do not let  my mother dog  dominate a pup that may not be the top pup in litter and may need to gain its own confidence with running, playing over logs, on different rough surfaces...
Pups are outside in sun for VIt D  every day after 4 weeks....I have playpens for the pups where they  are safe...Occassionally the brats will start digging and trying their knowledge of how to dig to china...I just move the play pen and give them more toys...
