Large Breed Puppy Formulas may not be the answer, as they often replace protein with carbohydrates. Protein and carbohydrates contain exactly the same number of calories per gram, so reducing protein in favor of carbohydrates provides less needed nutrition without reducing calories.\
High protein diets are preferred, as puppies need protein to thrive and studies have shown that high protein does not lead to developmental problems, but high fat diets may contribute too many calories, leading to rapid growth.
This is why I use the Large breed puppy with added raw meat, eggs, cottage cheese and yogurts no low fat mess either..regular...]
OVER FEEDING IS THE REASON GSD GET INTO PROBLEMS,,NOT LARGE BREED FOOD
.
YOU MUST LEARN TO RESTRICT YOUR PUPPY......BONES TO CHEW WILL KEEP HIM HAPPY .....NOT MORE FOOD.

I have heard of so many sick dogs on BB.
And nutro the ingredients are bad.
try wellness or royal canin 24

I would use caution with Royal Canin. They are owned by M&M Mars, the same company that owns Nutro and Pedigree. It will be interesting to see what happens with their products. While Nutro may not have been the best product, it used to be, at the least, pretty reliable. Since they were bought a couple of years ago it seems that all hell has broken loose with them.

Forgive my ignorance. Is this the same M&M Mars as in the candy company? If so, I am not surprised. They cannot even use safe manufacturing practices for the people food. Too cheap to use different manufacturing facilites for their products with peanuts. Unlike the Hershey company. They finally came around a while back. Sorry, that's a sore topic for me. Got a little girl with a peanut allergy. Can't hardly ear outside of our home anymore. It only takes one lazy cook ya know.

There is no corn in BB, or wheat, soy, etc and it's human grade meat.
