You are right, Rookie is a nice looking male.  Have you had your girl's hips and elbows certified?  What is the purpose of this breeding?  I think you should have been asking these questions BEFORE you had her bred.  As a newbie, you need to be doing a lot of research not just asking for opinions.  There are sooooo many things to consider before putting two dogs together besides what they look like.  I would feel better about what you are doing if you had titled her in something first along with having an OFA done on her joints.
I myself have learned a great deal from this site and in the future any dog I purchase will not come from another "backyard breeder".  Unfortunately I'm afraid is the category you will fall under.  Everyone loves their own dog and thinks it would be wonderful to produce puppies but in reality, very few qualify for advancment of the breed.  I don't mean to bust your chops but I consider this irresponsible, plain and simple.
Please reply and convince me I am wrong.  I would love it if I'm wrong.  And I am sorry if I am wrong.  I'll get off my soapbox now.

Updating your pedigree info is easy, Rowdy.  Just go your dogs' page and click "update pedigree". Then it will give the screen you got when you first entered the dog. You can add hip results, titles, ect. here.

By the way, welcome!

 Hi Rowdy, and welcome!

I agree with Kali, Am. show lines doesn't necessarily mean byb.  I'm glad you got OFA-cert. hips and elbows.  Methinks you truly have a *working* dog, not a sports dog.  True to Max's original intensions of keeping the GSD a working breed.  SchH isn't the only way to prove a dog breed-worthy.

No flame here!

"I was looking for a nice female to work on my ranch, that would have the above qualities for possibly breeding later, for pups that would do well in working, but also be great family dogs (which is what my female is). I chose the stud dog because again, of temperment and drive. I looked high and low for the female that I purchased"

Nothing wrong at all with that. The SchH titled dogs often produce pups that can't do real-world work and are lousy family/companion dogs. Dogs with sound hips/elbows, that do real-world work, and have excellent temperaments are definitely worth breeding. If your dog works well on your ranch, that's much better than a SchH title as far as I'm concerned. Your dog is doing what GSDs were originally intended to do--work and be part of the family (not get titles for sport and live in kennels).

Just ignore the title snobs.

Be careful folks... there are few of us oldtimers left here whose "sport" dogs as you call them are producing SAR, therapy assist dogs and yes, sports dogs in a variety of sports.. and they spend time in a number of places.. kennel. house, car, hotels, friends .......
We just need to be careful of how we word things sometimes

Rowdy, Good luck with your girl.. she is very pretty... hope it all goes well

Rowdy,

No, I am not trying to run off newbies.  Sorry if I offended you...I  tend to be blunt.  No, I do not know you...and you don't know me.  I was not "judging" you.  I was asking for more info because what little info you gave set off alarms with me.  I actually have no problem with backyard breeders IF they are knowledgable.  Not everyone who loves the breed can afford huge kennels and traveling around the world to title their animals.  But anyone can ask questions, get opinions and find out if what they own is worth repeating and will improve the breed.  You hit a raw nerve with me in saying you had already bred your girl and didn't know her pedigree. I still stand by my opinion on that.  What if you find out if they carry a gene for some horrible problem? Are you going spay your girl and put the puppies down or keep your fingers crossed and hope for the best?  All I am saying is that anyone who breeds first and then researches a pedigree needs to get their priorities straight. Do you already have homes for all the puppies regardless of how many are produced?

I am not a Schutzhund snob, there are several different titles you can work towards and no my puppy isn't titled, yet.  I hope to get her titled in obedience and possibly follow up with Schutzhund or herding but too soon to tell what she might excel in.   She does not live in a kennel, she sleeps next to me on the floor.  I put her picture on here and asked for opinions on her, knowing I might get "flamed" because I need to know what I am looking at, warts and all.  My feelings didn't get hurt and I know more than I did before.  I appreciate truth, pure and simple.

I'm happy to hear you do have her OFA and researched her before you bought her.  I wish you the best with her.  And as I said before, I am sorry if I was wrong.  But I hope you see where I'm coming from and can understand why I feel the way I do.

Regards,
Deb
