Oh, the stories we can tell!

I remember chanting to myself when doing some of the more...er...unsavory duties,  like say, picking and flushing maggots out of wounds....

Okie  Thank you so much for your insight.  Our 5yr old GS Raven had Pyometra.  Hers was probably as bad as you described.  Even after the surgery we didn't think she would live.  It took about a month and she became like a puppy again.

We think she probably had an underlying infection for a long time.   She had a litter of one with all kinds of birth defects.  After the fact, you can't help but wonder.    She started drinking LOTS OF WATER.  Even with her fever of 103 she still told off a small yippy dog, and drug me out of the vets office.  They can really fool you on how sick they can really be, with out us even knowing.
