Habanaro,

Tina Werkheiser would be the better person to ask regarding restaurants. We're too cheap to spend our money on other peoples' cooking  :)  One thing for sure, Friday nights are nearly impossible for getting a table. I think everybody in all of Pennsylvania goes out to eat on Fridays.

Rezkat, as to directions, come in on I-78 W to Rt. 33 N to Rt.248 W - sign for International Raceway/Nazareth/Bath. On the bottom of the exit ramp off Rt. 33 turn right onto Rt. 248 W. Follow it through Nazareth and Bath. It gets squirrely in Bath but the signage is good. Stay on Rt. 248 for several miles, maybe 15 or so. You'll come through Pennsville (where we live), Cherryville, Berlinsville. Then, at the bottom of a hill there'll be dual lights. Right past the second light make a left onto Rt. 873. You'll be on a large bridge. Turn right onto Maple Springs and left onto Shadow Oaks, go to Bulldog Lane to the stadium.

For directions to our place send me an e-mail.

The town is Slatington, the school is Northern Lehigh Sr. High School on 1 Bulldog Lane. Couldn't find GPS co-ordinates for it.

The stadium is about 9 miles from me. Forget the restaurants anywhere near there, (there is a new place on 873 I haven't tried yet) but there are quite a few, catering to a variety of ethnicities, (Steakhouses, Japanese, Chinese, Diner/coffee shop food)  near the host hotel. Its quite a jaunt from the host hotel to the stadium, a good 20-30+ min. if you know where you are going. Traffic can be an issue at evening commute times. The directions to the draw place indicate Mary Immaculate Center. Seems like an odd place for a draw-night event, but I have never been there. Its a big place.

I have a guest room and some space on the sofa if anyone needs it. (women only please) Not fancy, but safe, and the price is right. Ha ha ha.

As far as my whole club attending, I am all over that. There may be detention for any member who fails to attend at least one day. (Remember, Bosen Kinder is NOT a democratic organization! Its a benevolent dictatorship and I am the Queen :-) We saw the club level last weekend. Makes sense to see how the other half lives when its right in our club's backyard, eh? Too bad most of our club members live 1- 2.5 hrs from here...

I will bring my tan-colored easy-up for shelter from the elements, German shepherd banner designating the club presence. Of course you can look for me under "the hat", but I don't sit still much at events.

There's a strip mall near the hotel. Jack Creek Steakhouse is always good/dependable. The Japanese/sushi place is okay too. As I recall there is a TGI Fridays across the street.
Stay away from Gergory's steak house (Home of the 64oz steak) . I used to work there when I came to PA. I wouldn't eat anything out of that kitchen if I was starving to death.

The little motel here in town, (Lehighton) Mahoning Inn, goes for $40-60./ day, depending on the room. Its not fancy, but clean, parking in front of your room, takes dogs in some rooms, and has wireless internet, fridge, microwave in all rooms, new beds. Its lots closer to the trial venue and there are a few decent, reasonably-priced restaurants nearby. The diner next door has great breakfasts... under $6.00, and a full bar. The rooms in the back are the nicest, quiet, nice view, plenty of place to walk dogs. (Please pick up after them)

Sorry, nothing in Slatington/Walnutport to recommend. Even the Chinese joints are pretty bad. That leaves McDonalds and the new place I haven't checked out yet on 873. Not sure its even open.
