But I don't think expressing compassion/regret/whatever for atrocities inflicted on the Indians implies indifference to atrocities inflicted on African Americans. ??? Do you have to mention every atrocity ever committed if you're going to mention one?

i just find it so amazing how today we justify crossing borders because we are scared the tyrant leaders will not treat their neighborskindly enough, when our country was settled 200+ years ago by the same type of massacre and cruelty.dont get me wrong,i am damn gladtohave been born and raised here.ijust think weshould fix here instead of there.if there were more jobs here people might not have time for such narrow minded thinking!!!!!!!!!

Adding: and do you know the sad part? They won't even appreciate it, because they didn't work for it. They get free education, how many take advantage of it?

Please, let's remember that every country has it's dark side, every race has it's dirty history, and nothing any of us does will change that. I didn't own slaves. Maybe my ancestors did, maybe not. Frankly, I don't care. Perhaps my ancestors were themselves slaves, being as many of them came from Europe, where anyone who was not of royal blood was essentially a slave. Frankly, I still don't care. Throughout human history, it has been the habit of mankind to try and take control of everything in sight. That's what humans do. It's been done for thousands of years, it continues today, sugarcoated in the form of 'saving people from themselves', and it will continue until the end of time, or until, as us Christians believe, the end of times comes and we are called to judgement, to face our Maker.
It does say in the Bible: "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God..."
And :"Let he who is without sin cast the first stone."
Stones, anyone?"

Nothing to get over, I owe nothing to anyone.
Its a good program and a bit of history you wont find in the history books your kids use in school.
Yes the myth lives on. And so does the problem.
Anyway, you had something new to talk about.
Moons.
