My girl also had a c-section with her first litter of 9. Keep a close watch for a few days; take her temp and clean her incision 2x a day. Mine spiked a temp within 48 hrs and needed to go on antibiotics. But she had been in labor a long time and delivered 3 puppies before going to the vet, so plenty of time for bacteria to get up there. She went on to have 2 other litters naturally after this though,

She's 8yrs old and this was not her first litter but it will be her last. She's retiring to the couch or next to my son's bed.
Labor was over 24 hrs without producing a puppy....contractions just weren't strong enough and waters had broken several hours earlier. It was take the puppies now or let them die. Today's visit cost just short of $900....breeding ain't cheap & I was up over 34 hours with her.
This is my 2nd litter in almost 4 yrs and I have spent over $5,000 JUST in breeding with 2 females & 1 male that I have personally owned.
I have my litter and will be keeping 2 puppies and am beyond ready to get back to training and forget the breeding part of things for long awhile. Not the problem begins about deciding which 2 I want to keep....LOL!!!!
