Wow. What an awesome dog!!! Youre so lucky to have see him. What did your pups turn out like?

I hate to say it, but the whole litter was crap. They went to some of the best handlers in the country. Not a one got so much as a SchH 1. More temperament and structure problems than I could shakea stick at.
They sure looked good on paper!
Just shows to go ya... breeding is anything BUT an exact science.

Well you're honest!

Hey. It was a long time ago. No point in lying. Too many National-level handlers bought the pups. If they couldn't do anything with them, NOBODY could!

Love to see it, no kennel blindness there.  Obviously you are in it to better the breed and can call a spade a spade.  WTG.

It was a bitter pill to swallow for a long time. Hips, elbows, bites, over-sharp, sharp-shy, the whole litter was shit.
The only good news is that it had my now ex-husband's kennel name on it. (Were there really TEN of them?)  The whole thing was pretty sad, especially after all the hype we published in our USA ad about the breeding. I see no listings for the litter here on the dB

It is a shame....You just never know..   Fero is on a lot of pedigrees.... My dog's included.... I always heard he produced himself - I guess that wasn't exactly true....

I have a lot of Fero through Troll Nachbarschaft and they are all, so far, really nice.  But hey, Fero is a long way back in those peds and ther are many great dogs there too.
I was once told that tward the end of his life, Fero was sterile, kind of a "oh that is a Fero dog... wink wink, nudge nudge"  Anybody else hear that?  I was also told by a German judge that Troll was from "old Fero", which I thought was an allusion to that same story.  Any thoughts?
Either way, Shelly THANK YOU!  I have been waiting for those pics!

I did leave the female with Hubert. There was another sable dog in the kennel, the only other dog there, and Fero was pretty old... I've always had my suspicions.
If you guys saw the place Fero lived you would be very disappointed. He was in an old, rusty, corregated steel roof,  lean-to shed on the side of a used car dealership Hubert owned on a busy street. Nobody even lived there. He wasn't in very good condition IMO, probably partly a process of aging.
I always thought for all the money that dog made his owner, he could have built him a palace.
Maybe he DID, but the dog sure didn't live there.
