Forgot to do minor changes in the Mal section,  it should be there now.

Thanks Oli.

I think a basic editor for the PM feature is fine. People can always switch to private e-mail if they want to exchange files or images.

An all-breed general OT forum would be terrific. It would leave the breed sections breed related.

I would like to see the ability to edit comments (original writer edits) so we can correct typos, add to the comment, or delete the comment.

pending legislation would be a good topic

It would be nice to be able to add images to PMs when you are messaging about dogs for sale- rather than having to exchange personal email addresses for pics.

Thank you Oli!

I like the idea of being able to add images to PMs, in the event you are describing an illness or injury & don't want to show the whole board, but might not want to share e-mail addresses.......

Also I like the idea of a members only off topic board, that'll get exciting, LOL!

And the idea for a pending legislation place is a good one.

And a spot for dog items for sale, or dog merchandise; cross breed....by members for board users, like the dogs for sale pages?

Thank you very much for all you do!  jackie harris

Oli, thanks so much for *asking for input* from your users.  Clearly you don't have any obligation to provide this service at all so it feels all the better that you are looking for ways that would improve it.

I really like the idea of splitting the discussion board into different categories such as Training, Health, Bloodlines, etc.  That should make it a lot easier to find posts and weed out the threads that are of no interest to the reader.

Thanks so much for all the "anti-harrassment" features you have such as blocking PM's from a nasty user and the new "report abuse" feature.

I hope that with the new changes more of the really good dog people will come back and post meaningful topics more often.

Thanks again!

Yvette

I disagree with the addition of new forums, from a usability standpoint. Compared to www.germanshepherds.com where they have a multtitude of forums, PDB is a much more efficient user experience. You can see what's being discussed without having to navigate to different forums.

If you do want to look at a topic, for example "raw diet" - PDB has a good search tool and it quickly presents a group of relevant posts without forcing the user to scroll through page upon page.

Additional forums will lead to the inevitable posting in the wrong category which then increases moderator intervention which this group is so fond of.

A members only forum is a good idea though. There is a huge sense of community here, even if some of these people hate some of the others.
