The "administrator" posted this site on another forum. States non-profit, registered in what state? Haven't gotten an answer. I personally wouldn't want the responsibility of getting sued if someone were to slander. It's a US site.

I saw the other forum, it was identified as not-for-profit which is legitimate and much different than non-profit. Slander goes on everday on this site and it's still running. I wouldn't want the responsibility either but I'm grateful somebody is willing to accept it.

Actually definition is pretty much same thing:
A nonprofit organization (abbreviated NPO, also not-for-profit) is any organization that does not aim to make a profit, and which is not a public body.
more power to them.

I'm on the board of my daughter's soccer association and we just went through this. Most people think they're interchangeable but they're different. A non-profit has sought tax exempt status, created a charter, and a separate legal entity apart from it's members. A not-for-profit has not sought tax exempt status or created a charter, and does not seek to establish a legal entity apart from it's members.
Our soccer association went is a not-for-profit because the IRS regs for 501(c)3 status are very arcane and the application process can take years. We put dues and donations into our field rentals and maintenance. The site says donations are going to hosting, servers, and other things I can't recall at the moment.
I'm with you - more power to them. I emailed them asking them to create a rescue section but I haven't heard back.
