If you enter DN14749904 to the AKC database it will come up with Bosco Bishop born 23 May 2006, is that the one? It is the same number as here but instead of DL, it is DN.

Wdozier, the minimum age for a final O.F.A. hip and/or elbow radiographic evaluation is twenty-four (24) months.

When a dog recieves a passing score from the O.F.A. it is posted on the O.F.A. database first, then a printed certificate is sent by mail to the owner of the dog provided it was requested. Passing scores are published, and one can opt to not have their dog listed if it failed the examination. As far as I know, the passing scores MUST be published. Why would they not be?

I don't mean to stir a pile, but I smell something here. I refer to the information in the Hukka's post to be too close to be a coincidence, and this is probably the correct dog. Dog's names can be changed a bit due to spelling errors or handwriting faults.

Please note that the O.F.A. certification will be printed on a pedigree from the A.K.C. provided this copy of the pedigree was obtained several weeks after the findings by the O.F.A.. The O.F.A. does communicate directly with the A.K.C. but there is of course some lag time.

Me? Unless I could find proof positive that the dog was listed with both the O.F.A. and the A.K.C. and the registration number matched for both entities, I would suspect false information somewhere or everywhere. A slight error with a name is passable provided there is documented proof of who really is the dog, but the registration number must be perfect.

There are several breed registries in the U.S.A.-many of whom can provide a pedigree based upon no hard evidence of a dog's lineage. The information in these pedigrees is obtained through a sworn (yeah, right) statement from the dog's owner. For the time being, the A.K.C. is still the most trustworthy of the breed registries in the U.S.A. as they actually have the means to check things.

And finally, all of us make typos when we enter information, and there could well be a typo in the information contained inside the pedigree database for this dog. Or, there could be something else.

Best Regards,
Bob-O

If your dog was born before the info reached AKC it will not be on your registration.. Hopefully dog was done before pups.

Call the breeder and ask for a copy of the OFA  very simple to scan it...if breeder cannot scan ask for the number and the
OFA has a phone number and a fax number..

Call them...check the akc registration number doing it both ways...if there is a descreptioncy you must demand it be corrected.   check all paperwork against what AKC tells you and OFA tells you...consult the breeder.

Thanks everyone for this information. I will do some more research and call the breeder to see if she can send me a copy of his certificate. I would hope that any descrepancy would be typing errors.

Thanks Nancy for the nice comment... no worries though she dosnt get on him like that... I was surprised he let her sit on him. I keep the camera close at hand for moments like that.

Thanks Jyl for trying to look up then information for me.. I thought I was entering it wrong.

And thanks Bob for all that information.

This board has some great knowledgeable people on here. I appreciate that.

http://www.offa.org/results.html?num=&registrar=&namecontains=N&part=Bosco&namecontains=N&breed%5B%5D=GS&breedlist=ALL&variety%5B%5D=&sex=&birthday_start_month=&birthday_start_year=&birthday_end_month=&birthday_end_year=&birthday=&regcode%5B%5D=HD&regand=N&rptdte_start_month=&rptdte_start_year=&rptdte_end_month=&rptdte_end_year=&rptdte=&submit=Begin+Search

This is all GSD's listed in the OFA website with the first part of the name being "Bosco"  I don't see the dog here, but you can do some creative searching by using the partial name in the search part.  That being said, I don't see the dog listed there....

You can search with other parts of the name too to see if anything comes up.
