That will not insulate the forum owner from liability. Ao long as poster's identities are unknown the forum owner may be held liable.  .   There can be disclaimers out the ying yang, and they won't necessarily protect theforum owner.  (don't believe everything you read) - the biggest question is - under what jurisdiction is the law?

Fact (apparently overlooked or unknown) : the forum owner is in ICELAND. Half the people on this forum couldn't even find it on a map. :-)

LOL Mystere, isn't that the truth..... LOL, LOL

As for liability, some of you might consider learning about the law before you make yourself look silly.

Hodie - I hope you weren't referring to me.  I've been inthis game many many years.  That is why I asked what the jurisdiction was.....  the point of origin is the starting place....  is the  owner of the site and the server in Iceland???

Hodie and Mystere, I must say you two are always spot on.  I always enjoy your posts.  I have learned a lot from both of you.  Luvemdogs, I am one of those offended by the OT political, religious and vulgar insults that some throw around here.  I don't believe in bashing kennels either with out good factual reason.  I am glad to finally see some moderation on this forum.  If posts violate the terms of service then they should be deleted.  An explanantion would be nice and a warning should be given.  Then boot the offenders if they can't coincide with the rules.
FWIW,

Jim

Wow.  I didn't even know people used English as a primary language there.   I'm completely Icelandic-ignorant.

What country hasn't? :-) It's a global meltdown.

by hodie on 06 April 2009 - 01:04

They don't use English in Iceland as a primary language. Their language is called duh....."Icelandic" and is one of the older languages in the world, and stems from Nordic languages. Unlike Americans, Icelanders learn other languages, including English. Oli obviously speaks, reads and writes excellent English, unlike some of the Americans who post here.

Hodie, Aint that the truth!!! You can often spot the non-native English speakers because their grammar and spelling is better than a lot of the Americans.
