Had a thoroughly nice day, this is certainly how a show should be organised.   We all have a lot to live up to now with our future shows.... and all run by volunteers again,  we must remember.  Give yourselves a big pat on the back for a very memorable show.  I saw so many people there that I havent seen in ages, all enjoying themselves, and to add to the final great issue - there were no calories in the chips, burgers, or even the nougat bars at the great catering van.   How did you get that one organised Carol, sugar of course always carrys cals, so to help out there the busy girls but us a fork in the dish to help us eek it out a bit.
No inner ring tape became a little groan from exhibitors and handlers, so within a second up went taped corners, all done and dusted without fuss.....
Seriously a good show.  Well done all.    Mo - Mascani.

This was a super show and a great day with good atmosphere. It was great to see some of the classes with very big entries.
The parking was great, the food van was a big hit (esp with Ryan and Phill) and the toilets not to far away, but they did lock them early.
The puppies did get a bit lost in their classes as no inside tape, but as mentioned this was soon sorted,a very well run show.I know the committe have a job to do for double handling but how annoying is it that the KC turn up for the puppy classes, the babies need all the help they can get.
Anyway well done to the commitee and well done to all the winners and to everyone who paid their money and turned up to make it a good show.
I liked the idea of giving people black bags as they turned up to put their rubbish in.

We have to agree with the above complimentary comments. It was a great show, and the initial problem of no inner ring floor tapes, was sorted. Bar facilities next year will be greatly appreciated, and toilet facilities closed at 5pm, so next year an earlier start than 10am may lead to an earlier finish than after 6pm. It was fantastic to see some big quality classes, and I hope other Show committees take particular note of the Bolton GSD Clubs entry fee of £10 per entry and UNLIMITED entries for £40. This was done with a Judge from Ireland & Croatia, with a superb venue.

Jim, there's always next year... they're going to have a bar then too... sorry you missed out, it was a lovely day with many quality dogs.  The bitch judge wasn't too hard to look at either  LOL.

From the Commitee of Bolton GSD Club - Thanks to all for your kind comments and approval of our show. As Penney so cleary states we are just a bunch of volunteers who love the breed and really care about our club. If we made mistakes then we apologise and in some case these were truly beyond our control.
We would like to say a very big thank you to all of the exhibitors for entering, our aim was to give something back. This show was a land mark show for Bolton GSD Club. When we found that we had lost our venue for the January shows we had to move fast and find a new venue this then in turn meant we had to move time of year hence April.
The judges both Mr Bill Patterson & Mr Damir Jovanovic we extremley pleased with the quality of animals that were shown, and both have stated that as exhibitors you should all be proud of your dogs as they are on par if not better with anything that is shown in Germany. If the wind had held off a little more then it would have been a whole lot better. The KC Field Officer did turn up as this is a total new venue within the dog show world and not used before so he had to give it the once over to ensure that is was suitable. Unfortunatley we can't pat ourselves on the back because each and every one of us aches from top to toe!!!
The full marked catalogue will be sent to Jaquenetta German Shepherd Dog web site as soon as possible.  In the mean time may I pass on our congratulations to all the winners each and every one were stunning and well deserved of your placings. This is not to say that lower places were rubbish in any way.  We now need to see if we have passed our test with the owners of the venue and can hopefully hire the venue again. The Bolton Harriers were a little concerned about dog fouling - but as we left the venue at 7.30pm we made sure that it was left just as we found it.
As for the Butty Van I am her manager!!! She can be found in Bolton Town square every week day and is now on contract to us for future shows.  Missbeeb I was so busy I meant to to put a call out for you to come to the Sec tent as I had the BUMP song ready to play for you!  p.s. glad you liked to look at our bitch judge - will see what we can do in the future.

Sophie, I looked high and low for you... in your shawl and clogs... couldn't find you... lol

It was a splendid show with quality dogs.  I asked Sue B where you were... but she was too busy trying to retrieve her coffee mate from the GRASS... lol it went everywhere!

I like tall dark men.  (For next year)

Just bumping this as I'm sure Sophie would have replied to you if she'd seen your post Missbeeb.
