there have been a few breedings in recent years that i like very much, with the sire line going back to troll and the dam line going back to timmy.

Timmy is/was a cool dog. Sure, his brother Troll got most of the publicity and is my pup's great grandfather, but this dog is just as good IF NOT BETTER. Kind of like 2 brothers, both smart, both with college degree, and one is a brawny loud mouth  who can back up the mouth with his teeth and other one is a quiet destroyer taking care of business without much fanfare. Love them both and they both are GSD legends.

Wow. This is a great thread for me. Brava has been a screamer since day 1 and I have been trying to get the vocalizing under control. She is controlable, just freakin' loud. At least now I know why and a little better maybe what I am dealing with. She's awesome to work, you just need ear plugs.

After reading the thread I went back to check the pedigree. Timmy/Troll great great grandparents for dad. Timmy/Troll great great great grandparents for mom. Double whammy.

She is an incredibly intense and focused young dog. I would have loved to see Timmy or Troll working if they are where she got parts of her personality and drives from.

The photo is her screaming her way into a blind....

Cool picture! I find it so reassuring to know that Beckett's one behaviour that I have been a little....ummmm...embarrassed about is a genetic thing that he can't much help. We are still working on it, he's much better now than he was his first year, but who'd have thought that screaming was an inheritable trait? I love my boy! Can't wait to be back on my feet & out on the field with him! jh

You should have heard Bijou and Onyx as youngsters. Deafening! Portia still barks or screams on her way to the blind. I guess they like to let the helper know they're coming.

Ha ha, just messing with you guys. To expand a bit on the von Banholz web site - they seem to have all, or most of the dogs that became legendary in 80s, 90s and 2000s on that video web page. It is amazing to see Timmy and Troll and compare.
