Not eating? Normal.
Chewing through chain link like it is paper? Normal.
Whining or howling? Normal.
Busted crate doors? Normal.
The insatiable desire to chatter and drool over every area she sat , layed down, or peed?? Normal.

Yup. We just bred one of our girls yesterday, and our other two boys not involved are going nuts.  I even tried to feed them indoors in their crates rather than out on the back deck where they can smell what's been going on, but it hasn't helped much. Actually, the younger male with no experience is worse and off food more than the other male who's been bred twice (of my two boys not breeding) this particular time. The guy breeding is eating, drinking and very content with life.

LOL Kandi
Thank god they have not eatten throught the chain link kennels yet.
The howling is ridiculous and I am not sure how the police have not arrived yet our neighbors are very close.
But I did notice Uruk was licking the grass in the yard like it was the best thing ever this morning!
Yummy day old urine what could be better.

Now I kinda feel better this is all kinda new for me!

This is why God made boarding kennels.

Yup ! Not to worry at all.Phantom is going nuts over a female now in heat  too,and food is the last thing he wants.Just as Bob stated, keep plenty of fresh water available for him as well as  keep offering the food. He'll eat when he gets hurry enough.

Two Moons.....You always bring a smile to my face when I read these post of yours.

True story:  When I worked @ a Vet in Montana a gentleman used to board his male Bull Mastif whenever his bitch came in season after "Cruncher" (his real name) ate thru the garage wall....

Having never owned a Female only Male dogs, looking at the above posts it seems the male will make a fair amount of noise when a female is in heat and mine will be kennelled next to each other with one inch metal bars separating the pens that will mean the Dog will see her all the time she is in heat ,  but the pens can be separated to be one foot apart and a false plastic sheet put through so they do not see each other for when the female does come into season that i have already got in place
Is there nothing you can do to mask the scent to stop the noise from the male
As i say having a female Dog is a new thing for me only having kept Dogs for over 57 years. Should the noise be a big problem and annoy neighbours then  i will have to think hard about getting a female Pup,
It is the noise factor which concerns me nothing else
what are your thoughts on my question

Males have been known to break teeth on chain link fencing and crate wiring while trying to get to a bitch in season.  Shelly is right.  Better to get those two boys in a reputable boardibng kennel before there is an accident or your neighbors start complaining.

If only there was good one near by that can handle Working GSDS.....all is well now the girl is out of heat and the boys are back to eatting.   Well only Nikko would not eat...Uruk just howled his food drive is incredible but of course he has not been breed yet that should be interesting!

Thanks for your help...lucky we got out of it without any police calls or injuries to teeth or bodies.
And actually when the police do come they are usually pretty impressed and embarrassed that they have had to come out.
They love the trailer thank god its a good distraction!

Yup, my boy will do the hunger strike thing too for a couple of days.  Though through some better management I do get him to eat a little straight raw food.  The worst was the 5 day hunger strike, he dropped weight and looked terrible.  I now try to beef him up a bit and he gets raw beef when she's in.  He's not bad the rest of the time, just those "full bloom" days.   :)
