I would call THIS dog a longcoat (though he, too, has an undercoat):

Malinda, if the pup is out of who I think he/she's out of, then it could have the same coat as this bottom dog, through Unit Gymor.

The puppy is CUTE!!
I prefer the normal coats but the long coats and plushes are very pretty!

In both pictures he is still a little wet from a bath as he fell in the mud..
Ask for the shave spot he had a ingrown hair folical that needed to be cleaned out.
He was 8 weeks old on monday .

I was thinking it was a pup you bred, not your new arrival, so I was going on the assumption that being coated was a probability due to genetics. OMG, he's cute. What's the harm in waiting? I agree, his fur looks to be the same length all around. I had one in a Czech litter who had fuzzy fur all over her body; she has the shortest coat of all today. I don't see clear ear tufts, nor leg feathers. I wouldn't count on him having a very short slick coat, but I don't think I'd call him coated just yet. He is edibly cute though.
