Blkdog....
Your dog in the picture is a stock coated dog.......which means: Normal/correct coat.
PLUSH is only a term that people are used to saying to describe different "looks and texture" to a normal coated dog......it means nothing more.  There is no correct term in Germany as a "plush" stock coated German Shepherd dog.
On their pedigrees.....it will only state.....(Stock Coat, Long Stock Coat or Long Hair Coat).....
Nice dog...best wishes!

Ron,

For what it's worth, if the best puppy was a  long stock coat, I'd definitely work it in Schutzhund.  Pretty is as pretty does :)
A good dog is a good dog is a good dog ;)

Thanks...  I thought he was a normal coat, it is a bit longer but it is still tight fitting to his body!  Not to mention he has a really thick winter coat now!  Thanks for the info, and helping me clear it up!

Red Sable,
Pretty girl...  I love her colors!!!

Thanks Blkdog!  Your boy is very handsome too!  Do you also have a black dog? (hence your name? )

To me, long coated dogs always feel like ALL they have is undercoat...really long undercoat and no topcoat. Feel spider-webby.

Ya, they have a soft coat, and don't seem to have as coarse of  guard hairs.

One of the reason some breeders charge more for the long coats is because there is such a demand for the coats from (primarily?) pet homes, that some breeders actually have waiting lists for the long coat puppies. I suspect that may increase with the SV change that will allow them to be shown in SV-style shows.

I have over the years had many calls on long coats, but I have never produced any.  I think some long coats are very nice looking and then there are some that are not that appealing to me...  Jmho...
