I didn't care for the look of the GSDs on their website.  Dogs that are disproportionate, some whose coats and heads remind me of Collies, and the huge sizes...Not at all to the standard.  And why would you be so incredibly proud to have a vet certify that your dog is overweight?  Some of those dogs are definitely overweight, despite their "bone".  I guess that there is room in this world for "pet breeders", but these are definitely not "old style" GSDs...they are simply giants.

Wow! I'm glad somebody started this thread. I've got a personal photo gallery that I affectionately call the "GSD Freak Show" and I've got some screen captures now of some grossly oversized bodies hooked some tiny heads. Thanks for the good laugh!

the saddest thing is I have seen male Shepherds that were 28 inches tall, and the heaviest one was 117 pounds... so I am sorry but 143 is really just fattness.

I think the terminology of them looking like ticks is quite funny...good dog analogy!

I had a female that was close to 100 pounds, so when she had pups, I made it a point not to keep the biggest girl in the litter, and when that pup had pups, I kept an average size pup, not going for the largest in the litter.
You can grow them big, but that's not within the standard, but I guess you can turn a GSD into a Great Dane or St. Bernard, if you keep the biggest pup each litter everytime...........

My girls are now ranging from 60 to 78 pounds..

Those poor dogs joints and hips. Can we say arthritis and god only knows whatelse. There isn't enought glucosamine and chondroitin in the world to help them. Unfortunately, I don't believe those people think their gsds are overweight they are truly proud that they are morbidly obese. That is so sad. I wish you could report animal cruelty for morbidly obese animals.

What a disturbing sight to see. I agree with Molly... their nothing but obese (super) dogs, nothing more. It's a shame that the breeder doesn't give a crap about their dogs health.

Allowing your dogs to be super and morbidly obese should be considered animal cruelty because you are increasing the risk for caine diabetes and other severe health problems.

I heard that alot at the show this past weekend "Your female is small' vs our shepherd! I always came back with Well I bred to the standard not the lastest trend! Some just walked away while others would say well ours is  "big boned" or (I love this) He is imported from Germany  :) so being from Germany makes it ok that he is over sized ?
I don't get it personally if you want a "big" dog get a great dane.

I prefer my dogs to be within standard. an 85-95 lb male is still a BIG dog, especially when you are 5'4"!  I have also found the big ones to be lazy.  I'll keep my "small" shepherds anyday over an obese 130+ lb dog.

just the other day I was reading an add where the breeder stated their females were on the smaller side, weighing 70-75 lbs!  I have a couple girls that size, but generally my females avg 65 lbs.
