Wow, you guys are harsh.  I think anyone who can raise six children of the same age at once (who have manners and aren't out-of-control) will have a good chance of successfully raising two gsds.  I've seen plenty of people with only two wild, unruly kids who have only one equally unpleasant dog...

Better than a lot of puppies who are being raised in kennels.  How much individual time do they get each day and how much is spent separated from other dogs and people?  Besides, plenty of people who only get one dog effectively ruin it with poor training anyway, what's the difference.

I am not Kate's biggest fan because I don't like the way she treats Jon all of the time, but I don't live there and he may deserve it.

I do remember when they started out though, she is very organized and keeps a lot of stucture in the home.  Kids up, diapers changed, in the chairs, food down, eat, clean them then move to well confined area of the house while mom did dishes and cleaned kitchen.  I was amazed that the whole litter got along long enough for her to do the dishes!

She may do very well with the pups and keep the house clean, those twins are a big help to her.  I can see all 8 having a vaccum a piece and away they go.

How many dogs do those Dugger's have?  You see a lot of different ones on the shows, mostly mixed breeds.

EmilyC I have to disagree. I wouldn't sell 1 puppy to someone with that many small children, let alone 2. How much attention do you think those puppies will get? How much training? They are going to jump up and chew things and nip and teeth and have potty accidents. And what will the children do? What all children do, squeal, yell, run away, etc., enciting those puppies. Those poor puppies don't stand a chance at being well behaved and well adjusted. SHAME on that breeder! $$$$$$ is all they see! I've lost track of how many puppies and dogs over the years I've trained for large families and I guarantee you the dog almost always comes last. 2 GSD pups with 8 small kids..... 

Well said KCZaja, I agree 100%.  ESPECIALLY considering these folks haven't had a dog before.  This is a nightmare situation for those poor young pups.   With regards to raising pups in kennels, there is nothing inherently wrong with kenneling puppies and dogs.  I have seen many dogs raised in the house that are completely miserable.   It is the quality of the attention/training given, and it is about spending the RIGHT amount of time spent with them, not whether or not they are in the house all the time.

Anyone that puts their lives on a REALITY show needs their heads examined!  She is a nut case! People fall for this crap.  They sell their merchandise and their book on TLC. If she can't take care of 8 children, how will she manage 2 German Shepherd pups?  Oh YES.....they get EVERYTHING for free! I wonder if the Breeder gave them the 2 pups for free?  Will the breeder pay for  free training and then the pups will be banished to the yard?  OR will one of the kids leave the gate open and 2 pups are dead and gone by getting hit by a car?

Kate happened to come to our church and talk to us about her family's hardship through out life. I'm amazed how she got as far as she did with all her children and personal finanical problems. If she takes on two puppies I would be even more amazed!!!
