666, Mark of the Beast:
Revelation 13:16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a Mark in their right Hand, or in their Foreheads
Revelation 13:17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the Mark, or the name of the Beast, or the number of his name.
Revelation 13:18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six. (666)
Revelation 19:20 And the Beast was taken, and with him the False prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he Deceived them that had received the Mark of the Beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

He was a handsome boy, (Talking about Charlie.....)
I strongly believe we should be able to make that decision whether or not to micro-chip our pets,
that's a shame, after all it is a procedure that requires piercing through the skin.
My girl gsd Mira is micro-chipped, and she developed a lump shortly after it was implanted 6 years ago,
the lump is no bigger than a walnut, it just stays the same, I was thinking of having it removed, but it seems
like if it hasn't harmed her in 6 years, leave it alone.
And to say : "Tragedies like what happened to Charlie Brown are probably more common
than we like to think,"
The word "Probably" stands out to me,
Hopefully other people having such problems with this procedure will alert other pet owners,
why would you keep it to yourself.
I have never heard of any problems as dramatic as Charlie's,
also, cancer does run in certain breeds of dogs.
I noticed Charlie doesn't weigh over 50 pounds,
and the struggling kitten probably wasn't any bigger than the chihuahua either, maybe it affects a smaller
more delicate pet, my sister has chihuahua's and she told me they administer the same dose of rabies
vaccine to her tiny chihuahua, as you would a German Shepherd

Seems to me like tattoos might be a whole lot safer, less likely to migrate. I've always wondered how they kept the chips from migrating around.
Sadly enough, I'm not a great believer in Vets or Doctors either...They're fine if there's something wrong, but a lot of the time, their blundering causes more harm than good...Now don't all of you go on the offensive. There are some good vets, and doctors, too, but the majority are in it for the money.
Out of curiosity, why don't they inject the chips, if they are going to insist on them, in the ears? Seems there'd be less chance of migration. Just a thought....
And there's never going to be a microchip implanted in any child of mine, UglyDog. I know they do that in some hospitals, as a surefire way to identify children, but as the chips have been linked to cancer, there's not a chance in hell I'd let that happen. The concern I have is the same as for animals...Migration into some place it shouldn't be, cancer, and who knows what else.

I agree with Molly, more of a chance of getting hit by lightning than bleeding to death from a microchip. MIne are tattooed and microchipped. Only because, some might not know where to go from the tattoo number in the ear.
In most cases we do the chips when they are in for their spay/neuters, that way they are not moving. But, even the ones that we do awake, aren't that bad, it is a big needle, but also very sharp.
We chip animals ALL THE TIME and rarely, is there even a drop of blood. If it is true and the pup jerked or something, maybe it went too deep where it shouldn't.
Also, the newer chips by HOME AGAIN, are not supposed to migrate at all. I've checked the location on my pets, and they've all stayed put.

I try to obey laws because it costs too much time and money if/when one does not.
I pay my taxes because I don't want to go to jail.
So what's wrong with that Uglydog?
