Ouch....e-collars pack a pretty good punch on high level (there's no way in hell I'm using something on my dog I wouldn't use on myself so of course I tried it on all settings). I joke that I didn't have children because I couldn't crate them or use an e-collar, a prong collar, or even a leash, but jeeze...I was only kidding. The adults (father AND mother) who did this should have to wear the e-collar while the abused kid gets the controller...JMO

I had a dog that would do fly-by's. She would come running (from behind) jump grab and rip my clothes, and would do the same with my 2 small children. Catching her in the act was impossible, and not letting her run would have been cruel. Sometimes she would miss and draw blood, or knock the kids down. I used an e-collar on her, it took 2 zaps on the lowsest setting. She is now 10 years old and I haven't used is since. Had she not stopped, she would have gone to the pound, and who know's what would have heppend then.
E collars have their place, unfortunatly they are used too often.
