I have used this product or baking soda and vinager. If I rememebr right , it has kinda a minty smell to it. I spray it around and behind my kennels where the runoff from pressure washing them goes.

I would have to put slabs down over half of the yard.   I need to find something I can treat the surface with that is totally safe for the dogs.  I am in the process of bringing in gravel to reduce the mud itself.  However, I will still need something to treat the surface to reduce/eliminate the odor.

I'll check this product out also.

baking soda and vinager works great and wont harm the dogs or the enviorment. Getting it down before the rain will help it work into the mud to get rid of the odors. We used this for yrs with good luck.

Also, lots of shavings down to help with the mud.

I know about mud and clay here.   If you can get your shovel past the rocks what you come up with will make bricks..lol
Local joke..
You can't get them to go in a controled area?   A lined area with pea gravel would be easy enough to hose down without chemicals.
Or rotate like you would pastures.
I don't think you'll find a cure in a spray can or bottle.
I still think you could get them to go in other areas one way or another.

I gotta agree with Moons. I wouldn't be having the pissing next to the door.

Try walking to your car and finding out your dog was too lazy or too cold to go to the edge of the woods for his latenite dump.
Then you don't find out until your in the car and the heater starts blowing it right in your face..
At least with snow I can see it but in the leaves it all looks the same when I'm not wearing my glass's.
Just thought I'd share...lol

How 'bout when you spoon up to your hubby & then farts on you.....ya gotta pray they're not wet farts! It's bigger than a cat....I don't know about potency!

Seriously, wouldn't a couple bales of pine chips help with the odor & the mud, & maybe discourage them a little? jh

If I can make it to summer I'll be able to redo some things.  I'm looking for a temporary fix for a few months.......  I'll put down some baking soda and cover with shavings for now.  Geesh, I used to have the nicest little herb garden there.........

Thanks for the suggestions.

Okay, query re: shavings. WILL putting shavings in the yard actually help with the mud? How much are we talking, a few inches deep? What about the oils from the shavings and foot irritation? Rain is coming back in a couple of days, so tell me quick! :-)
