Since I wasted so much time this year, I plan on making all up for it by going crazy titling my two dogs. With Rebel, who already has his BH and AD, I'd liked to get his Sch. 1 at my club's trial this spring, then go on for a Sch. 2 hopefully later. He's already 3, and I want to get all his titles within a year, and maybe a couple months. Hahah, Way to aim high.
With my little girl, I'd like to get her BH and AD, which I think she is easily capable of by next year. Maaaybe even her Sch.1 if we work hard enough. Then a breed survey. Hmm. I wonder where all these trials are gonna be.. Hheheh. I'd like to breed as well, too. See what my two can produce. That sounds like a successful enough year for me! Hope I can pull it off.

My goal is to heel up by 2009. I was rough housing with the dogs yesterday and I broke my toe in two places. I think they know they won the battle because they look at me kind of cocky on my crutches as I gimp around the house.

Looking back on this past year, I had 3 grand children, the grand total is now 5. :o) I purchased two Great female GSD's. I put a CGC on Audi and attended 2 seminars for SAR with her. I would like to certify her in Land HRD & BH, possibly Sch1. I have to get her hips & elbows OFA'd too. I would like put a CGC on Carney & certify her in Land HRD & work towards her BH.

I have big plans for next year...they may not all be attainable but I can try!
2008 was a great year for us, my dog Kessy got her BH and OB1 and then her Schh1 at the next trial. She also got an SG show rating, TT (temperament test) title, and her hips and elbows were OFA'd - hips are good and elbows normal, and her AD. Oh and she got her herding instinct certificate with high praise.
I also finally just got all her AKC paperwork done which I'd been putting off since she was a puppy :P I'm just waiting for her DNA to come back, everything else is done.
I would like to get a Schh2 and 3 with Kessy next year, and would really like her to have a litter of puppies. It is a bit of a tall order but I like to set my goals high LOL And I think it's doable. But if we only reached two of those 3 goals I'd be very happy.
I also plan to koer her in the spring, and maybe branch out and do some agility and rally-o or herding. I also need to get my JRT back into agility training - he was doing so well but I got lazy and stopped going.
My main hope is that the dogs (and humans too :P) all stay healthy and injury-free!!! And to continue having fun but with this dog that's a given :) Every time I walk off the training field it's with a smile on my face. She learns things so quickly that it makes training so easy and fun.
2008 was rough on the "human" end of things (mostly with us being broke!) but hopefully 2009 will be more stable!

Coach my daughter through her rally titles, CD, CDX, BH and SchH1.
Put an RX, NA, and NAJ on Aila, and if she tracks well this summer, a TD (so a VCD1 and UDT)
Finsh my Tygra's (aka Uzi) RA, do her RX, and hopefully, finally, her CDX.
And for my "foster baby" Xiri, a BH, and AD, and maybe for rally/obedience for my own fun, and get her tracking rolling in the spring, and protection by summer.
It seems like a long list, but it's really not bad. My girls have most of the necessary knowledge, I just need to go do it. I'm also crossing my fingers for a new pup, a new litter, or both.

Hmmm...goals for 2009 would include:
To continue:
1. Having fun working with my girl in the sport of Schutzhund
2. Working on personal growth in regards to improving my own handling skills/abilities as a trainer in working with an exceptionally high drive/high prey GSD
3. Striving to think "outside the box" - exploring how if somemthing isn't working, what could we do differently to help us succeed
4. Increasing my knowledge about the protection aspect of SchH and working with helper(s) collaboratively to help my dog (and me!) learn and progress in the sport
5. Working towards our SchH I (this was a goal we had hoped to complete for 2008 but hey, there's always this year!)
6. Learning how to read my dog better and finding the right balance in our training work
7. Being a "sponge" - absorbing any useful tidbits and techniques others may have and are willing to share
I think this is a start - I'm sure I will have many more as the year progresses

In no particular order....
1) Get enough committed people to start my training club
2) I have been training Ruger's Guru and her dog so getting them titled.
3) Get my own dog titled
4) Go through LAPD's Defensive Tactics Instructor School to gain more skills and add to my instructor resume
5) Get my department to let me work a dog and get on the Rapid Emergency Deployment Team.
6) Arrest as many gang members as possible
7) Get serious with my Muay Thia training
8) Buy stuff to put in the empty house I just purchased
9) Get the '69 Camaro up and running again
10) Spend more time with my nieces and nephew

Good Evening,
First of all i am kinda new here, so i would like meet some new people and learn about working my dogs in a better way. I have been training with a trainer and hope to get my male Ando vom Boeselager to his BH and maybe his SCH1 by the end of the summer. My new little girl Harlow von der BleuHaus is going to start working on her tracking and maybe onto SAR work.
I would also like to bring joy to my family and friends. To make others happy and to spread good fortune on to others. And ACE the paramedic exam (i am a student and almost done with class.)
Daniel
