They are registered with THE CONTINENTAL KENNEL CLUB?????

I understand the theory behind creating the "breed" is to produce a dog that hs the best traits of the parents. I suppose a "low shed shepherd" might be attractive to someone, somewhere. Do they ever produce offspring that have the worst qualities of the parents?

I'm just thinkin', here...

Hehehe... Every fall and spring, I play arround with the thought of either putting the lost woll for sale on ebay.....or.... crossing my sheps with a poodle.....LOL As the none-shedding gene appears to be a rather dominant one, shouldnt you be able to outcross back to a complete GSD look and just keep the none-shedding part?

Cant really blame the buyers, those dogs just look so god darn cute. Yet I am sure they are a handfull and nothing for the inexperienced owner. In our (regular) dog training club I see at least one poodle in the beginner classes and the owners struggle with the simplest things. They are smart and manipulative, and you have to put your foot down. A Shep-Doodle makes for a cute biting machine IMO. This will become quickly a liability as people will loose their respect while aproaching a mix like that as "cute dogs wont bite and need to be cuddled".....yeah right......

Funky munky----When I was a teenager my family had a dog named Dollie.  That was her name not a designer breed. She was cross between a Doberman and a Collie. So I came up with her name as Dollie. Most people thought she was part greyhound from her looks. She held her ears like a greyhound. Her body was more like a doberman. She was all med. tan color. She didnt look to have any collie at all. We never saw the dad, who was the collie. We saw the mom, a blk/rust doberman. The lady told us that the dobe and collie mated once before and all the pups from that litter wera all black. We didnt ask how she knew the dad was a collie. Dollie was a great dog. She was very protective and a really good watchdog. I can see if i can scan a  picture of her if anyone wants to see what she looked like. Sorry , but I just wanted to share my Dollie story. Didnt mean to interrupt this thread.

I had my Sch-started JRT eyeballing some of my GSD ladies. Course he's snipped, but if he wasn't I could've had German Russell Shepherds! Think of the ball-drive on one of those things! The prey-drive! The fight drive. Oh, I could've charged $1000s for them and I could've been rich!
