Fiona, i knew exactly what you meant as we have discussed this subject many times. The JRD thing reared it's ugly head for 1 reason only and i think most of us know why. Has it been blown out of proportion, yes, i think it may, but i am no expert on the subject. Best to ask someone who is, but they seem to have gone quite suddenly, leaving everyone else to debate the subject. LINERN, as BRADY BEE is my sister, i know she would never be purposely harsh about anyones dog, and with the dog she has now, she could be. LONGSHANKS, why have you removed your comments, stirred the pot now your off, won't be taking you too seriously in future. liz

Ref JRD I have just received a reply from a Dr of Genetics at the Guelph Uni. He states he has not seen any cases of JRD in the GSD, and is producing a paper on this subject, which will be in the UK this weekend.
A statement to this problem has also been provided by another Professor from the RVC.

Thanks Liz
Linern
I know what I meant, but in hindsight maybe I got the wording wrong. I did say ANOTHER ONE SWEPT UNDER THE CARPET, and you took that to mean another dog, when I was meaning another illness, and more than anything else, the health of our wonderful dogs is more important to me than any other aspect. Once again I apologise if I offended or angered you, I wont offer up any more apologies, as there is no point, as you clearly do not accept my explanation. I mean what I say, and I say what I mean---always. Perhaps in future I will take more time and think about what it is I have to say before I post to prevent any further confusion.
Longshanks
You are no better than those you seek to expose.

BRADY BEE. Thank you for your explanation . I did not see any prior posts to do with any other illness unless it or they vanished before I looked on here. I do not look on here that often ...... maybe I should try to look more often as I have obviously been unaware of several posts .
As I have said before if anyone has any questions regarding Zasko I am happy to answer them if anyone cares to email me.
SUPERDOG. Your post is very interesting , is the paper to be published this weekend ?, if so where will it be on public view ?.

It is almost a year now since Mr Payne claimed that a puppy named Buster died of JRD yet to date there is still no evidence to back up this claim. I personally do not think that JRD exists in German Shepherd dogs. Yes dogs of all ages do die from renal failure but this can be caused by any of a number of different things.
I have no faith in the DNA test currently being offered as it has no scientific validity what so ever.

I do not think I am alone when I say I do not believe that Zasko is a carrier and that you deserve the utmost respect for the way you have handled this whole sorry mess.
