I feed my dogs blue buffalo( have 6 dogs. 2 german shepherds, 2 belgian malinois, a rottwiler and a jack russel terrier and all of them do great on it. my rot and one of my shepherds has bad skin problems so I give them the fish and sweet potato. They have been on that for a little over a year now and still LOVE it. I also add a fish oil tablet, one vitamine e tablet and a pet tab once a day. I would go to your local Walmart and get the fish oil and the vitamine e there. It is like $20 total. Fish oil is 1200 mg and the vitamine e is 400 iu. Hope this helped you out.

P.S I have tried EVERY food from proplan to platinum to eukenuba and blue buffalo has been the best for mine.

Obviously it depends on the dog as you can see from the variety of replies. Most dog food stores give away samples. Pick some up and see what your dog likes, then buy a small bag of it. See how he does on it.  I have one who eats California Natural Chicken and rice and another who likes Taste of the Wild High Plains. They have different needs so they eat different foods. I also rotate foods, and use Instinct or Orijen also. I also feed one dog raw bison. He is strong and extremely well muscled for his youth group.  I haven't tried Canidae but lots of people here reported having problems with it when they changed the formula so I didn't bother with it.

My supplier tells me canidea is now dropping to 30lb bags first can get 40 then 35 and now 30 but price still stays the same.So now I'm toying with going to chicken soup any neg. feedbacks?Male pup very stocky and one hell of an appitite. You oughta see me couch.lol he is only 7 months now and my female<year old> is at the awkward stage.Canidea is only 24% protein. Should I be looking for more protein? Both very active .

Raw is by far the best food you can feed your dogs. From kibble - Orijen.

Platinum!!  I recently " acquired" 55 lbs at the AWMA Nationals.  The dogs LOVE it!!  The stools are small and firm, and don't even smell much (not as much as the food itself!! ).   It is also very nutrient densse--I fed my 8 month old puppy the same 2 cups twice a day I fed for innova large breeed puppy and she got pudgie!!  The bag says 2 cups a day and that is probably right.  It is rather spendy, but considering the amount to feed and the apparent digestibility, not much more than other premium foods.  It is 70% chicken.  Although a kibble, it is sort of moist.

I am ordering more!!
