And I would even rather see that then a pack of lose dogs chasing livestock. That happened when I was growing up. "Family" dogs running lose formed up a pack and were killing livestock and threatening people. The local law enforcement agencies issued warnings to stay inside after dark. A couple neighbors dogs ended up being part of that pack and shot. I have also had lose dogs kill my poultry (full sized turkeys) and chase my sheep and goats. Other people in the area have had sheep and goats killed by lose dogs, not coyotes which we have problems with also, but dogs that were seen.
My preference is everybody have nice fenced yards for during the day and nice doggie beds in the house for at night. But sometimes that is not an option.
