Actually, I think you need to have a good vet as your backup as opposed to a chat list but I do realize some people do not have access....
GSDguy, regarding your statements.. I too worked for many years and so did my husband and we managed to still take temps 3 x day and not leave Mom once temp dropped. Maybe we were fortunate that our employers were flexible enough to give us some slack when the time came (since it didn't happen every day! and was a special occasion.
I am fortunate enough to be home now (I'm the unpaid kennel help among other things) and my husband works from home but again his employers are very flexible about things like this.. they actually are very interested
Also, before I start any new adventure in life, I research like crazy and I started this before the internet was around so I had to buy books and read them.. still have most of them and refer to them all the time......

I would like to thank all those who responded with info regarding my question.
We finnaly had our litter yesyerday. The day before her temperature dropped at 37.2 oC (at 08:00 am). She started digging in her box all day.
The next morning at about 08:00 am she started delivering. 6 healthy pups (4,2).
Thank you.

Pics are on their way.
Just wanted to mention an experience I had with 1 of the pups of the litter (the last one):
10 minutes before the delivery of the 6th pup the door bell rang. It was the carpet cleaners delivering to us some cleaned carpets. I went to pay the man. During that time my older son (8 yrs old) called me that the bitch was delivering another one. I rushed to the whelping box and I found a puppy out of breath. The mom had torn the sack and did everything in order however, the litte one was not breathing at all...I rubbed him with a towel, cleaned his mouth and nose from possible fluids blocking aspiration but nothing.
Watching the sorrow at my son's face I kept trying, not wanting him to be dissapointed from the whole experience. At the same time I was thinking what I should do so that he would not see the dead pup. I decided to use a CPR technique with massage and technical breathing...I kept going for 20 minutes (sucking liquids with a syringe from mouth and nose) and, all of a sudden the little one breathed in. Once... I kept going and after a minute or so there was a second breath in...After approx. 10 minutes of the same procedure the pup started to breath with difficulty, every 4-5 secs. I gave it to the mom again. She started licking at regular intervals (every approx. 2 minutes). The pup was lying there for about 1 hour trying to catch its breath...No movement, just trying to breath. I placed it with the rest of the pups. The movement of the other pups seemed to stimulate the puppy which started slowly to look for the nipple. 2 hours after that, you could not tell which one it was that had this experience...!
I was so happy! It felt GREAT! The pup came back to life, the bitch was OK and my son was jumping out of joy...!
