stick around, this place can get pretty ugly at time also.

your are right, getting a pup is a crap shoot.  some of the best pups i had, were sold for pets later, and some of the best pet pups can turn into the best dog for working.

when i look for a pup i look for one who has good food drive, over the top toy (prey) drive.  if the pup has some natural retrieve its a plus.  i like a dog that wants to be with me, and not always run and play with its toys by itself.

those are some of the things i look for.  granted others may disagree,   but most everyone has their own list of likes and dislikes.

p.s.   COLOR,   i love it.  too funny harley.  sorry to say but all my pups are sable.

One of My Pups is a Bi -Colour.

But then it makes no difference to me, because i am Colour Blind

And one of my Pups should be good in Protection, He loves his food and i have only two and a half fingers on my right hand to prove it

wasnt a knock on you, it goes back to a different thread.

funny thing about color.  in most lines you can find pretty much any color you want.   color wont win you any points on the schutzhund field, and it shouldnt have anything to do with a show placement.
