Have your  vet do a skin scraping, while you are trying to see if there is a food allergy going on or a flea bite issue.

There won't be any more bones, that is for sure!

I'm not sure if chicken is the problem however the bones sure kicked it up a notch.  We think the bone is pork.  The hardest part of the last couple days has been removing treats!  Been training with kibble....funny, it is me who feels ripped off, the dog doesn't seem to mind a bit.

Scabies...interesting.  Looking at the information available on the web the first thing I noticed was the presentation of the 'spots' is wrong.  1 is on the ourside of her right leg, one the right side of her belly (not underneath) and the last one is on the front of her right shoulder.  Her usual flake position is right side up.

Vet will have to wait until Tuesday...it is a long weekend up here in the north!

Ocoey,  I would advise you to have the dog intensley tested by swab, skin culture etc. There is always the danger of Staph infections up to and including MRSA in dogs which can be transmitted to humans and / or other pets living in the household.  VB

Thank you all for your comments and PMs!  What a powerful tool this message board is.

I'm beginning to think I'm crazy as the itching has improved (reduced) greatly!!  I'm guessing it was a reaction to that stupid bone (the gift that keeps on giving??).  Maybe it was bad...is that even possible?  I pulled the thing out of the garbage and will take it to the vet tomorrow.

Again, there were 3 spots where the fur was chewed off...to clarifiy, it was actually chewed short.  The spots are/were dry, one had some flaky skin in it which was remedied with polysporin.  No red. irritated eyes or eye goobies, diarahia, vomitting or ear problems.  Energy levels has not been affected at all!
