So sorry for your loss Shelley. Its never easy loosing our 4-legged loved ones.

Try to remember the good times and that she had a good life. Nothing will take away the pain but knowing your dog had a good life with you helps you heal.

Shelley Strohl

Conni passed fairly peacefully, a true blessing, fearless to the end, albeit in and out of blessed dementia. ;-) . I think I saw a twinkle in her eye as she galloped to the bridge, daring Onyx and Pallo to keep hold of any toys they might be fond of. Bitch to the end, she never displayed any signs of ansgt.  let alone remorse for any of the rest of God's precious creatues she had unceremoniously massacred during her lifetime.

Gotta love a leg-lifting stud-hussy like Conni. She was probably the last living daughter of WUSV/BSP Ben Aamuhlen. She will live on through her daughters.

God Bless all who have expressed their thoughts and prayers fo us here.

Ahhh, Shelley, I'm so sorry.  Your original post here today made me cry, then your last post made me laugh.  She truly was a magnificent dog & will never be forgotten.  I know how much your heart is aching tonight.  RIP Connie.

Wizard (Windstrom's Saruman Von Finn) passed 18 years ago... and your message brought it all back...  The holes in our soul never truely heal.  Rest well in the trust that they will all be waiting... because if Heaven doesn't allow dogs, I'm not going.

Shelly, I have thought about you all day and the sad choice you had to make.  It is so hard to lose them and we never get fully over it.  What a gift she has left you though, in sons and daugters.  One day you may just see that twinkle in the eye of a young bitch who reminds you so much of her ancestor.

So sorry Shelly. Words are just never enough. I really do think we will all see our dogs again someday.

shelley - i'm so sorry conni had to pass. i am glad you have your other dogs to comfort you in your loss, as well as all the other dog lovers your story has touched. it is true that the loss never leaves but it's so worth it though it's always too brief:(  remember while you are grieving to be sure to take the time to enjoy recalling (and share:) all the great times as well as all the silly times you had with her.  it's nice to balance the sad with the happy :) - my best susan
